I played this game on the MAME with the cheat on to get to this level, but it never went to an upside down screen, but I did reach the end with nothing but ghosts and ms pac man, and of course you can't complete the level.

You need a more recent version of MAME which properly emulates the BUGs which causes the upside-down screens, as would happen on an arcade machine.

What is your deal exactly? Isn't it OBVIOUS that I enjoy and am entertained by the game?????? The quotes are an additional layer of entertainment that I mainly did for myself because I kept finding quotes that fit with what was happening in the game. I was cracking myself up. Really, I was sitting there laughing out loud everytime I found another "match". There isn't ANY contempt here. If you really think that, you're totally wrong. MAN, I never ceased to be amazed at people.

I suppose. I'm a technically-minded person, and I found this video linked from other kill-screen videos that didn't have any special processing on them. When I'm looking for info on glitches, bugs, etc., I tend to prefer just the technical stuff about it, without extra things added on to make it more "entertaining". That's just my preference, though - I certainly understand that others enjoy that sort of thing.

Thanks for your interest! The Vuze link? The link works, but you need to download the vuze software first to download the file from their site. (It's basically a P2P client.) Vuze never did get back to me about why it cropped the video badly anyway... So, I've re-upped the original 800X600 version to megaupload - see the link in the "About this Video".

I do see ghost images (of the dots, not the ghosts!), especially toward the end of the day due to imperfect LASIK. But no, viewing this vid on an LCD monitor looks fine, but terrible on my trusty and preferred CRT. LCD's are still fuzzy at resolutions other than native, so I stick with this. It's just this red on black that seems to be a problem, at least at 1600 X 1200.

FRAPS to record. You have to change Mame to use Direct3D in order for FRAPS to capture. Fraps creates a huge avi file with sound already in it. Then I have Sony Vegas for editing and converting.

WP = Well Played. I did get it exactly ONCE at the end on arcade game that the ghosts did not move (rightsideup maze), but the power pellets could not be eaten so i could not finish the level.

I got the stationary ghosts on my mame-version too once btw, after rack-advance (i played & completed level 133). Power pellets did work and level 135 was 'normal', can't remember what happened beyond that :/ I need to get Wolfmame too, i hear it's accepted by Twin-Galaxies if you record & send your hi-score game from beginning to end on it?!

I'm now no longer sure that the stationary ghosts happened on the arcade game sry, i found my pac-notes yesterday and the game in which i thought it happened was with energizers in the form of a 'T' which could not be eaten, but no mention of stationary ghosts. The notes are incomplete tho, and it was so long ago (1994) :( wanna see?

Oh, sure if it's easy to show me your notes. I'm not sure what you mean "energizers in the form of a 'T' ". The shape of the energizer changed so that it wasn't round you mean? I don't think I mentioned that one time the maze walls were not there, but all the dots were there in the upside-down configuration. You could use the edges of the screen as tunnels like with the other versions of MAME screwing up...
