those bands are mainstream.. they DO get radio play, and even have enough label support to have music videos, we just don't hear a lot of it in canada because most people don't have sirius and we have to have something like 75% canadian music on much and the edge and shit, and anything else that gets through to canada is the most mainstream of american/other music.

one could argue mainstream is a genre defined by how much financial assistance an artist or band gets, not a sound.

I've heard a song by Drop Kick Murphys that I like but it takes a while for a band/some songs to grow on me...

So far my faves are "Prayer of The Refugee", "Ready to Fall", "Reeducation through Labor", and "Audience of One".

Rise Against used to be so awesome :( i loved going to their shows when almost no one knew them.. their new album doesn't sound like Rise Against at all, it could be any punkrock band's album. They should have stayed with Fat Wreck Chords.
