I love how Jack reacted when he found out that Rose was still alive. It really shows how many people cared about her, and I love how Jack cared about her. Don't get me wrong, I am sooooo a Doctor/Rose fan forever, but it was really cute =)
As for Martha, I don't really hate her, I just disliked her because she needed to realise that the Doctor was so broken hearted after what happened, that he wasn't going to move on.
I was really happy at this part cause I loved Rose and the Doctor, and Jack is just to adorable. They were a real power trio yeah?
I really hated Martha at first but by the end she really had my respect. Martha was pretty badass in her own way. And she really did love the Doctor. Rose and the Doctor forever, but Martha was great too.
Its nice that the doctor could talk to someone about Rose, it seems to be eating at him. Martha had her merits as the doctor's companion, and he is thick enuf to regard her as nothing more than a companion and friend, despite her obvious interest in him. I kinda pity Martha but the Doctor's heart(s) belong to Rose Tyler.
You know, I don't really like Rose all that much, but my face always lights up in a smile whenever she is mentioned after series 2... Martha is my favorite companion though...
Ugh, Rose is my favorite companion but don't hate on Martha Fucking Jones. She's fierce, smart and wonderful. YOU DON'T ONLY HAVE TO LIKE ONE COMPANION!!
I loved Rose, she always was and always will be my favorite companion. But I also really loved Martha, I felt so bad for Martha! It really does hurt to be head over heels in love with someone who's stuck on somebody else permanently. All in all, I guess I love all the companions! Donna, Amy, Martha and Rose. They're the Doctor's angels, and he loves every single one of them.
He and Martha might've worked if she had given him a little time instead of dialing up the innuendo/jealousy right away. He clearly wasn't ready for another long-term relationship yet. It's only as of series 6 that he seems to have sufficiently "digested" the whole Rose afair to give himself to another chick - And it might've taked even longer if River hadn't sort of "already" been his gf/wife/whatever, from her perspective.
All the times he was talking to Martha about Rose, he wasn't treating her as a replacement, he was (from his PoV) merely spilling his troubles to a good buddy. He's pretty thick in that respect. When someone has the hots for him, he's usually the last to find out. XD
That's not saying that I don't like Martha. She's cool, and noticeable more intelligent than Rose (That's not saying Rose was stupid. She wasn't and she had other merits -, the being smart part is the Doctor's job anyway)
what bugs me is that Martha knew from the beginning that he loved Rose by the way he didn't want her to replace Rose and yet she kept trying to make the Doctor love her when he wasn't going to.
I always loved when the Doctor would talk about Rose infront of Martha! She needed to get it into her head that he wasn't going to fall in love with her!
@xPrincessKx Have you ever really been in love with someone hopelessly, like Martha? I have, why I still am. I have no have no hope that he'll ever love me back, but I still keep loving him. Even though my mind knows it's causing me all the emotional pain, and it would be easier to just stop, I can't stop. Loving him is just the way it is for me.
That's why I can relate to Martha. She doesn't have any hope of him loving her, but she just can't stop. Show some mercy on the poor girl.
@xPrincessKx Yes, I have, and it sucks. I know it does, but I got a grip and moved on, told myself that he was a lost cause and forgot about trying to make him love me, instead focusing on having a great friendship with him. Which I still have. Martha did eventually do this but I think she was just annoying in her persistance.

Martha: Is that what happens though, seriously? You just get bored of us one day and disappear?
Captain Jack: Not if you're blonde.
