  • I haven't used mushroom compost, so I'm not sure what its supposed to smell like. No harm in throwing it in the compost bin, but since its already compost, it should be ready for use. Can you get some more and compare the smell?

  • How come mushroom compost stinks so badly? Should I take my mushroom compost and throw it into my regular compost bin to recompost it?

  • Official answer from Bruce Deuley: Not sure where you got the compost but if it stinks, it has gone anaerobic and should be re-composted.
