@StephenAlexWalker he didnt quit his contract was up. he just wanted to do something different, thats why he had been training for UFC while still part of the WWE. He had great wrestling skills, but needed to work on his sparing and his submissions. He was truely and animal in the WWE and now he is a animal of UFC. He was talking about making a return this year to the WWE as well as Bill Goldberg.

@8191khoffmann He was still under contract with WWE when he decided he wanted to leave, he agreed to sign a no compete clause (regarding wrestling and MMA until 2010) as that was the only way WWE would let him out of his contract, at the time he thought he was going to the NFL but he didn't make the grade at the Vikings so went to wrestle in Japan as the no compete was only valid in North America.
