  • What if you're hand goes through the guitar.I think my beat was to slammingly hard.Is slammingly a word who know's you owe me a guitar.

  • I am not quite sure how you would do it for Buffalo Soldier...it's not quite syncing...

  • Best freakin video on youtube! Awesome tutorial. Please make more songs!!!!

  • I personally think it's easier to play reggae the exact opposite way you showed haha.

Muting on down strokes and playing with up strokes.

  • Great! Thanks! :D

It's perfect for "Soulstorm" from Patrice!

  • THANK GOD!

Thanks man, this is the exact video Ive been looking for

  • teacher to teacher yes it takes time like how u did it or pupils check me to one love

  • Very good I am Guitar player Check out my video

  • so when you're strumming (not muting) is it on the upbeat? It seems you're doing a downstroke, but if you were counting would it be on the "and"?

I thought reggae strums were usually on the upbeat.

  • what kind of reggae is this? =\

play on the upbeat only -- mute down, chuck up

  • @Longboarder140 thats ska

  • i'm a beginner & i can't figure out how to get that muted sound! i even tried palm muting but it doesn't sound the same :/

    help?

  • @lovelyloroux Hi, the muted sound is made by the left hand. You just have to let your fingers ready to play but don't press the strings, just touch them ! Then you have to alternate between "press the strings" (normal sound) and "touch the strings" (muted sound). Your right hand doesn't have to change anything, all the job is in the left one !

  • @lovelyloroux that comes wid practice mate rhythm does not come overnight

  • @lovelyloroux You have to Mute with the Barré- For example the F Chord is a Barre. Like 244322 (eadgbe) (If i remember Correctly.

  • @lovelyloroux you said it yourself your a 'beginner'. i'll give you a nice little piece of advice. when your a begginner on guitar just dont worry about not being able to do things so much. becuase it will eventually come to you in the palms of your hands. practice is everything :) enjoy yourself nuuu pressure

  • That what I searched 4 alone time)))

    Thank U!!!!!!!

  • can i use this strum for Im yours?

  • @irArcangel Yes you can use it. Look at my lessons for "I'm yours", I play this kind of strumming for the verse !

  • Didn't sound very reggae to me... The chord progression was odd, and the syncopation of the strumming didn't have Reggae's characteristic up stroke...

  • hey mr syncopation...so you saying this progression..which bob marley used for natural mystic..isnt really authentically reggae huH?

i mean who knows reggae chord progression better than you right? because even bob marley got it wrong when he used that "odd chord progression"

    smh

  • Hahaha you owned that idiot. Some people don't know anything

  • well i think it s better if u talk in lessons becase this is .......boring.....no enthusiasm

  • WELL I TOTALLY DISAGREE! I say cut the crap(talking that is) some of us just want to quickly learn the song or technique thank you YTMalero for not saying anything and getting straight into it this is far more useful.I find your vids very helpful cheers.

  • 100% agreed.

skip the talkin, it's just confusing mostly and also wastes time.

i learn by watching your fingers and listening to the tune, not by confusing myself with tonns of unrelated informations.

keep up the good work :D

  • All lessons are on the website MLR-Guitar and it's free !!
