I checked all the forums, including Motorola's and no one seemed to know anything about the issue. They should have made an official case for it, maybe that would have been the solution or at lease gave an indication that they knew a magnetic case would cause a problem.

Well I had the Droid and Frankly it wasn't all that. I found it to be cumbersome and basically useless, and no I don't own an Iphone I hate AT&T. I feel this phone is more for kids whom just want to fiddle with there phone not actually use the thing. I need a phone that I can use for work not play. Are there settings that allow you to change what unlocks the phone?
I've learned that any time a phone isn't heat-touch, ANYTHING can activate it, and since the makers also aren't intelligent enough to make the unlock-settings anymore than tapping a single button, everyone with a touch-screen phone i know -including myself- pocket-dials constantly.
If the touch abilities are like the iPod/iPhone, or AT LEAST have an unlock that involves sliding the button across the screen, it will be worth it.
@BlackHatGraphics Actually, the unlock button does have to be slid across the screen. I've had it since it came out and it never pocket dialed or turned on unless it was in a case with a battery. Also, most smartphones now have a security setting that allow you to put in a password or dot sequence to unlock it. You just have to remember to lock it before you put it in your pocket.

The only reason why the alarm clock appears is because of the constant interaction with the magnet in the media stand. As soon as you pull it out the function 'disables' so to speak.

Part 1: This is not the best review I watched on YouTube. I just want to say something about the case problem. I have a velcro case which was offered in Verizon Store when I bought the phone and I am 100% happy with it. So if you think not being able to use a generic magnet case think again. Not a lot of cases are sold "One size fits all". When you are looking for a case you search by thinking "what case would fit my phone?" right? So why does it matter if your droid does case cannot have magnet
The thing is that there are so many generic cases available and there is no case made by Motorola specifically for that phone. Velco cases are fine, there are just not as readily available as magnetic. I know because I have been looking just to see how many are available. Anyway, the whole point was just to make people aware of the potential problems with the magnets in the cases.

it has a very good battery life if you have the task killer... cuz instead of other phones (iphone) this one is multi tasking and all the apps are running in the background you can run more than 10 apps at the same time... you just need the task killer and you will have the best battery... the talk time is more than six hour...iphone its just 5 or something... but if you dont have the task killer then your batter will go down fasttt

Just dont buy a case with a magnet in it. They have ones that snap closed which is a good alternative.

DUDE GET THE DROID! I have the Tour and the ball is annoying after a while >=O. I need to touch lol. Im actually expecting the droid in the mail tomorrow! I played with the droid and it was love at first touch! DROID>tour

it all depends of what you will use it for. If mainly business, such as high email usage... i would suggest BB. FOR EVERYTHING ELSE (LOL) - DROID. Not that droid cannot function with email, but BB's email services cannot be matched!

Hard to believe there is a phone behind those Nails. Very distracting. As for the Magnet issue, good catch. Though those cases look to me like ones Girls would carry. imo.

That issue with the magnetic cases is gonna be a tricky one. I'm sure there are gonna be plenty of people that it may confuse, "WTF, why am I losing battery power"?! lols. Thanks for the heads up!
