Westies are awesome dogs. My family has had three of them in the past 20+ years. They are so smart! Our last Westie passed away in October. I am looking forward to getting another some day in the not too distant future. Once you go Westie, you never go back. :)

Oh hello, I need a little help, i am getting a puppy soon but I dont know what kind of dog I should. A maltese or a west highland white terrier. Hello there! Wow... a puppy this is so excitg! Tis baby does require patience to potty train but it's really worth all the hassle. Westie r hardy,sporty,loving,have a big heart & smart. Not too sure of maltese but my friend's maltese seems dainty & r loving too. I still vote for westie. Anyway patience is a virtue (o^_^o). Good Luck!

I had a Westie for 17 years 7 months and 2 days. If you like a big dog in a small package that makes you laugh, then Westie would be the right choice. If you want a dog that is more dainty, longer hair thats softer, then a Maltese. I'm not too familiar with Maltese personalities though. I've learned that different Westies can be a bit different. Some have a louder shrill bark whereas others have a softer slight double bark. Some are more aggressive than others.

Yes, my baby Rocky did all the time, precious. Sadly he passed 3 weeks ago from today. I miss him terribly, but thank you to all who post these great vids, it helps a lot.
