@hdp26 its not the signature, which has a 27" scale, this one I custom built and it has a standard banjo scale, which is 26.188" the oversize on the body is a normal les paul plus the binding thickness, I made it the largest scale I felt comfortable playing
@1newbucketheadcover1 It was just one of my original add ons, just like the storm trooper truss rod cover, I figured I would have the functionality of his signature but the look of his custom shop models.
i dont get all this scale stuff how does a key depend on abcdefg can someone just explain to me for example why d minor scale is called d minor scale when it simply goes abcdefg like all the rest ? will be very thankful for speedy replies so i dont remain an idiot forever
Nice vid, but technically that's the Lydian mode, not the natural minor. The lydian mode has the major 3rd, tritone, and major 7th whereas the natural minor (aeolian) has a minor 3rd, perfect 4th and minor 7th.
I know next to nothing about guitar but I'm just looking at some cool videos, thought I'd share my knowledge.
@squiresuzuki I am completely self taught on all this stuff so correct me if I sound stupid please, but if you that the natural minor and the lydian modes, and over lap them, they line up perfectly if the natural minor chart is moved up to the 3rd, the thing that separates the two is that the 3rd for natural minor is a minor third, again I could be completely off cause I am completely self taught
@mlgudead Yes, you're 100% correct, but if you go by that logic, then this video title could be 7 different things (ionian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, locrian). The thing is that that scale is centered around G, and the intervals/steps make it lydian (although it shares the same notes as D Major, b minor, etc.)
@TheErnestoVidales I don't know a ton about modes but isn't all the mode spacing the same, its the root note that dictates what step falls where, so I am technically playing this in both C Aeolian and A Lydian, again I don't know a lot about modes, so if you can educate me please explain, :)
@mlgudead Well it would be a bit long to explain here but if you wanna learn more about modes you can look for the vinnie more video about modes :) I hope that helps
hi im having difficulties with the 11-9-8-9-11 part after the 7-11-7-10-11-10-7 part. its probably in the video, i think it is but cant hear you clearly. how do you pick that certain part? cos i could barely make it sound without keeping up the paste which i could do easily if i just hameron the entire thing.
@ThomasDemko to correct you first it should be 7-10-7-9-10-9, 10-8-7-8-10, every note that I pick I will place a p after, I normally start half way into the second so on the second string starting out, 7p-8-10, 1st string, 7p-10p-7-9p-10p-9-7 2nd string 10p-8-7, this is almost the technically legato way, meaning you pick every ascending notes along with the first note played on a string, anything that is being pulled off you shouldn't pick, hope this helps, if you need more help just message me
@Abon666 its not the signature if you are confused about that, but it way 9 lbs 4 ounces, average les paul weighs 8.8 I think just so you can gauge it
@xOsamaHamedx main arpeggio? wanna send me a link of buckethead playing it or explain a little more. I am more than willing to help I just have no idea what you are talking about.
@deepwater909 easiest way to remember, staccato=short note, legato=long , see the L and the L, and the S and the S match, dont mean to be rudely obvious but im typing this so I wanna make sure I get the message across. Pretty much a staccato note is like the big sur moon stuff, where you always mute the note right after you pick it, legato would be when you are "shredding" but not picking every note, you let a note ring out and you hammer on or pull off to make the picking points longer apart
@bitchslapper12 hey man go to guitar lessons 365 and look for 3 notes per string major scales.in this context the guy is starting from the shape built fom the 4th note of the scale e.g Dmaj,Emin,F#min,Gmaj,Amaj,Bmin(natural min)C#min7b5,so you would have ionian, dorian.phyrigian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, locrian, really he is starting from G lydian, you can start the scales from anywhere you like but if you don't put emphasis on the root notes you may struggle to hear the tonality
You helped me so much with this video! Thank you soooooo very much!
