What other band gives you a cd, more songs, a dvd AND a book?! ONLY Coheed and Cambria! Other bands give u some weird extra songs and a weird dvd with useless stuff. Maybe a keychain or a tshirt, like everyone else. Only CoCa is creative enough to include a book. Books are educational as well.

i completely agree. the writing for this album just seemed lackluster. short tracks, lifeless guitar, weak vocal lines. when going back and listening to second stage and in keeping secrets, all the tracks are big and soaring, tight and rapid. its a lovely sound and it keeps you listening for what's next. year of the black rainbow just didn't deliver. :/ makes me sad. i love the coheed.

Am I the only one who was kinda disapointed with this album? I can't find anything really wrong with it, its just it doesn't give off the same feeling as all the other albums did. I know I'm going to get flamed for this but I tried listening to the songs several times and I can't finish any of them. They seem kinda bland to me. Maybe I'll have to just come back and try again later but I'm just not feeling it here.

@TheShadowCross You know, I feel the same way. The songs get catchy once you listen to them a couple times, but something felt off when I listened to them. It seems alien, or unrecognizable save Claudio's voice. There aren't the same memorable riffs that were present in the albums before (or technically after) this one. The instrumental parts seemed muddled and lacked definition and uniqueness that the band managed to harmonize so well.

In my opinion, Its a good album but it is my least favorite. There are few songs that I like: Far, Made out of Nothing, World of Lines, When Skeletons Live and Here We Are Juggernaut. Still, nothing is comparable to Time Consumer and The Crowing or any other songs on their first 2 albums.

I'm an avid fan. Every album they've put out I've grabbed and feasted on. God, I've been living off of Coheed for the last few years. But YotBR just doesn't cut it for me. It's by far their worst completion. I like some of the song, "Far" is by far (hehe) the best song. I liked Here We Are Juggernaut, The Broken, World Of Lines and Far from the first get go. The album, for me, comes off as over-produced, the instruments and playing style on most tracks just makes me think as if they were aiming at being more progressive, but just don't manage. I love me some progressive stuff, but this just makes me feel that it is an incohearent, layer-upon-layer, drum masturbating, music orgy epic. So I've picked up every Coheed album (got into them about 2 months ago,) and I found out Claudio wrote several books to further The Amory Wars. But I've also seen comics. Can someone help me out here and how many things Claudio has done in print for the story?

@ImperativeNation AFAIK, right now there are two (very expensive) out of print comics for SSTB (The Bag.On.Line Adventures) that they couldn't finish due to budget constraints. Then there was the Good Apollo graphic novel. Now the new full set of SSTB comics are done (The Amory Wars: Second Stage Turbine Blade [10 comics, 2 volumes]) and they are working on/almost finished with the In Keeping Secrets volumes of those. And there's also this book. That's it, as far as I know.
