my doc thinks I may have sleep apnia. wants to do a series of sleep tests on me. Hmmm. . . . yes, I snore very loudly and have been told so by everyone. LOL!! geees I hate doctors.
You don't need to design a chin strap, it's available at the same med supply house where you get your other CPAP stuff. Personally, I found the chin strap annoying, so I don't use it anymore. I tried the nasal pillows, but it irritated my skin and the bottom of my nose was always red. So, I use a mask with an imperfect seal because I refuse to shave. It's still better than nothing. Much better.
Ah! Another member of the cpap tribe. I love it. I have used it for 9 nights and I feel renewed. The mask I have irritates, so today I called the Dr. and he prescribed the comfort gel, which is a nasal mask but is supposed to be better for comfort and less leaks. The nasal pillow looks interesting, but I think I might be bothered having something in my nostrils. I will experiment. The Dr. seems willing to prescribe whatever I want and the insurance will pay for it. Thanks for the info, Tim.

My husband needs a chin strap to keep his mouth shut at night so he quits snoring so darn loud!! He doesn't have sleep apnea though, just snores.

we have sleep apnea, we have always had it, we dont use any thing to help with oxygen, but we do seem to wake r self up or start breathing again.
we used to snore so loud, but having r toncils out helped with that.
but rs is really miled, we only stop breathing once in a while its not like it used to be several times a night.
its funny but it seems that since we got asthma its not been as bad, may be thats some thing to do with the inhalers opening the air ways more..
