@KleptoCosplayer the trip is prob 20 days most are, you will be doing a lot of things, going to museums, going on tours, staying with a family from that country. its an amazing trip. If you want to know more go to the information meeting on your letter you will learn alot
The trip is actually for 14 days, and you can look up the trip by going to the People website and looking in the Student Programs section. Select the Land of the Rising Sun trip, and you can get all of the information on it there.

@garciamarisol1 well you got invited to go to a meeting to become a part of the program, just because you are invited does not mean that you are in right away! you need to go to the meeting and then get your application and set up an interview time. Your recommended by a teacher or a friend thats how you get invited to join the program

and you need to go get the passport yourself you need to apply to get one and then go and take a picture and all, you can look up more info on it but the P2P program does not provide you with a passport. Also know it can take up to 3 months to fully process so look into it now!

Well for my trip it was my sweet 16 present so instead of having a party i went on the trip but my grandma help pay for it and stuff. You can try fundraising, ask for help from friends and family. No you cant pick your date, there is normally more than one group going at a time so thats why they have diffrent dates
It is really quite easy to raise money for the trips. Some things you could do is like a candy fundraiser or if you have a job put aside some money from your paychecks

yeah it is hard for some parents to let there children go to another country alone but, you should still try to get them to check the program out you are always with someone, its not like you go unprotected! Just try to get them to check it out. Go to the website or to the meeting you can get alot of information from them

How did you afford the trip? The Washington Trip is 2,000. How would I be able to afford that? How to make the money? D: Umm... I looked on the website and saw the dates for trip. Can you pick your date?

Well for my trip it was my sweet 16 present so instead of having a party i went on the trip but my grandma help pay for it and stuff. You can try fundraising, ask for help from friends and family. No you cant pick your date, there is normally more than one group going at a time so thats why they have diffrent dates

It is really quite easy to raise money for the trips. Some things you could do is like a candy fundraiser or if you have a job put aside some money from your paychecks

OMG THIS WAS MY SWEET 16 PRESENT TOO!!! they were like do u want a party or do u want to travel. and traveling for 19 days is so much more memorable than a party

okay this probably sounds really dumb,
but i was invited to go to europe, italy, and france this summer. and i got the letter for the information meeting today,
but i have no idea about the trip at all.
like, i have no clue about how much it costs or the dates or anything. ive looked through the website but i cant seem to find anything.
i feel like ive already missed my opportunity.
do you know what the information is for exactly?

well they mostly tell you at your information meeting, ther than that it should be on the website but if its not than wait till your meeting and see

i just had to do a simple presentation about one of the contries i was going to, we had to pick a topic like food or religion and then do a small report on that. Was not difficult at all, and not all groups has to do it so you might not have to.

i just got this paper on like saterday asking me if i want to do this. it says i am "invited to travel and study in Greece, Italy, Germany, and Asutria in the summer of 2009." and im really thinking about going to the meeting and maby doing this...any adivce?

Yes, I got one, but i don't think my parents are allowing me to go. :(
I've gotten 3 or 4 in the past, and they NEVER let me go!
I REALLY LIKE Australia, and I would LOVE to go, but I don't think I can convince my parents to let me go 17 days to another country.

yeah it is hard for some parents to let there children go to another country alone but, you should still try to get them to check the program out you are always with someone, its not like you go unprotected! Just try to get them to check it out. Go to the website or to the meeting you can get alot of information from them
