  • they remind me of Night Ranger in this video...

  • Used to sing this song to myself every time I would get an MRE with Poundcake in it while I was in the Corps. Good times!

  • @steelerman1974 Semper Fi! Remember them tough ass chocolate cookies!

  • Eddie never looks right playing a musicman... bring back the frankinstrat.

  • After this year we've been together, I can confirm I have met the most wonderful and special man. Mamoshh te amo.

  • When this video came out I immediately knew what kind of women is the ONE for me. After 17 years I found her, and now we’ve been together for more than a year. My women is exactly like the one at 4:41 & 4:50

  • Powerful

  • Classic

  • Van Halen= Timeless

  • Nice pyjama pants Sammy :p

  • Eddie looks good in there actully

  • isnt that little girl the same one as the little girl in mrs doubtfire???

  • The solo is awesome man.

  • Eddie always sounds very deep & soulful!

  • Great song Great video this got me through the VH lean years!!

  • DLR who?

  • Come on Eddie. You know the drill.

  • I used to come home from school or the first thing in the morning and watch MTV. The other day I was watching MTV and the MTV News came on. Nobody does the news no more? Remember Kurt Loder, Tabitha, John Norris??? Or how about the 'VJ'? Oh yeah that's right you have to PLAY VIDEOS to have a VJ!!!!!!!!!!

  • Although I hate to admit it, Gary Cherone did a decent job as a temp. And I HATE Extreme!!!!

  • Man, I used to spend hours watchng MTV just waiting for them to play this video. Now it's just a couple clicks away. Who remembers countless hours on MTV?

  • poundcake??? Who doesn't??

  • i want glam rock..or hard rock.. back..what would YOU choose?

  • @kostantinos999 ... Of course... I love that hard- Heavy Rock.... just like that poudcake I heard from Van Halen in those days....

  • actually what's the song/video tell about? i'm confused

  • why a little girl... what? can anybody tell me what are she saying?

  • anyone notice his guitar changes from the drill to the song?

  • cool! everybody should wake in the morning listening to van halen !

  • rock and roll and g bangers what a combo.

  • Poundcake got its name because it was originally made with over a pound of butter in it!

  • Excelente !!!!!

  • Come on only lIkes guys!

  • whole band rocks. Love the music.

  • Nice of Sammy to get dressed for the video....nice jammy pants! :P

    Terrific song!

  • I've been a lifelong VH fan...this was the only chance that they had to remain a constant musical force. This was the pinnacle of their' career. Sammy, whether anyone likes to admit it or not, brought VH to another strata that DLR couldn't possibly have done. THough DLR was awesome, he was to glam, Sammy had the talent when it all came down to it. Eddie is just too GD insane to realize that the rise and fall of his own name, his band's namesake, rested on his ridiculous ego.Too bad though.VH ruld

  • @DEMONSPEED2112 Yeah, Sammy's voice + Eddie's guitar skillz, = rock n' roll awesomeness. Not that I don't like David Lee Roth, it's just that Sammy is a much better singer.

  • @guitboxchicken Not to knock Sammy, cuz he was very powerful, but you can't deny that DLR was his own singer! He was him! Sammy was too similar to Robert Plant (not as good, and not an imitation, so in a neutral sense) if you know what I mean...

  • @DEMONSPEED2112 well said, van halen came into a completly new height of greatness with the talents of sammy.... dlr was a wreck at that time , great performer but not a lot of talent

  • @DEMONSPEED2112 Right on the spot, bro! Sammy wah the best thing that ever happened to VH since Eddie took a guitar :) quality of the songs went skyhigh! I've been in VH tribute band for years, we played every song from both DLR and Sammy-era and man the overall feeling of the sammy-era songs was a bit...tighter i'd say. Too bad Ray Daniels screwed this band..And Sammy is still amazing and blows up everytim he hits the stage! Vh ruld, i agree.

  • @DEMONSPEED2112 Amen - Perfectly stated. Nuf Said!

  • well mr big did that drill stuff before eddie did

  • proof that sammy can be hardcore too

  • Eddie rocks!

  • \m/ * * \m/

    from Holland / Netherlands

  • This is the second best Sammy + Van Hale song!!!

  • pretty cool how eddie plays his axe with a drill

  • @210acer He did the same thing with "Intruder" back in '82.

  • Epic Van Halen song!!!

  • Lovin some POUNDCAKE!

  • I love "the average guy" part with Mikey. I remember this video like it was yesterday!!

  • Poundcake is great with a glass of cold milk!

  • ROCK ON POUNDCAKE
