  • i found the router.. i didn't bought it

  • im using old Playstation 2 heatsinks and Playstation2 coolingfan with an 200ohm resistor

    its quiet, and ITS COOL :D @wrt54gl - 250mhz.. wifi -> 100mw

    ~50% load idle

  • @Gamerpaddy did you overclock your wrt54g router cpu

  • @ROCKNTV1 Yes.. it was on 200mhz

  • @Gamerpaddy why would you overclock your wrt54g wireless router cpu and use a heatsink

  • @ROCKNTV1 why not?

im looking for a circuit to add a USB host

for ftp, web / home server

the router is without heatsink @200mhz a bit hot

  • @Gamerpaddy just wondering what you have gained, other then possible errors on the system buss by overclocking your wrt54g wireless router cpu, Adding a heatsink mod may be insurance for unnecessary risk. imo like i said in the video. Now if you were working on boosting the wireless radio signal that would be diff.

  • @ROCKNTV1 im not understand you.. long text + google translator = fail

    i got no errors yet..

everything works fine and the router is cold

    but i've got a presumption...

  • @Gamerpaddy which router are you using ?

  • @ROCKNTV1 wrt54gl with dd-wrt

  • @Gamerpaddy fyi, the wrt54g-tm has twice the memory as the linksys wrt54gl and DD-WRT MEGA fits to boost wireless signal power and firmware functions. 3 years running high wireless output and NO heat sink mod. ;)

  • as far as i know the CPU was designed for 264MHz, so by running it at 250 u are not actually overclocking and you don't need the heatsink

  • @FirefoxPL hi, the cpu comes clocked at 200mhz from linksys although some products with the same broadcom chip in the wrt54g family were clocked at 216mhz so i am running mine at 250mhz thats a overclock in my book and still i dont see the need for a heat sink mod, powering a fan from the system board might warm up the power supply though.

  • Love it!

  • why would you want to install a cpu heat sink on a wrt54g-tm wifi router when it is the wireless radio that is doing the work of increasing output power ,, 4 people dont seem to understand,

  • is it safe running a WRT-54GL at 250mhz without any mods?

  • @captainmcduche i would say yes, but not in a sunny window sill. Also prob not necessary, and may cause errors on your network, you are talking about wireless out put power and not cpu speed? Most of the guys you see on the net putting a heatsink on there wrt54g router are installing them on the cpu and not the wireless radio, thats why i made this video as they are 2 separate issues, and these people fail to address that when they make these mods to their router.

  • how to hack wifi networks with an iPhone, ipod touch, or ipad!?!? well iwifihack (dot) net showed me how!!!

  • i just found out how to hack wifi with my iphone, ipod touch and ipad!! iwifihack . net

  • Your crackin me up with that big HEATSINK!!!

  • @AtomRidge lol, yeah bud, thats the point, putting a heatsink on the wrt54g is a bit more novelty then required, thnx for stopping in.

  • i thought u were going to show us mods for your new wireless n router.

  • @dankill16 I will bud,, just I am using the n router at the moment in my repeater bridge to the internet, plus there are some issues with that router and the storage link file table, am trying to get that sorted, but that video is coming.

  • hahaha. great vid.

i should be on all day tomorrow, hit me up... if my connection doesn't screw me again.

  • @onlywhenprovoked lol,, dude that was the biggest heatsink that i had in the house. ;) it fit perfectly,,lol
