What motivates the markets prices to go up and down? I've seen the one part where it was not breaking 9 cents so you got 1000 shares if you buy shares will the price move up? If so I don't understand how you profit from this as you'd be buying the higher price that the market is trying to sell it off at.
With the economy going down the drain and people losing their jobs left and right, there has to be a better way. I mean who doesn't want to make more money these days?

How do you normally select your stocks? I normally use marketwatch's screener. I shorted some WM, VM, and DFS. They proved to be pretty good.
