Anyway, in relation to the video above, I think it's pretty obvious the guy is lying. As well as completely avoiding eye contact (he's deliberately looking everywhere, except at the interviewer/camera) there is no real conviction in his voice.

Derren says himself, identifying lying is challenging, at times a 50% success rate. However, in order to spot clues, you have to identify a subject's normal state and then compare it with something that may sound like a lie.

I think it's more the fact that when the guy is asked what genre he likes he answers by saying he likes foreign film, which isn't really a genre as you can have foreign films that romance, action, thriller etc.

I enjoy foreign films, but have to admit this guy does seem pretty pretentious and desperate to make sure everybody know that he doesn't usually watch hollywood movies like oceans 12 when there's not even anything wrong with it!
