  • i hate it

  • I've just time traveled back to better days...when I was innocent and I had a crush on every other girl, and some of them with me..:)

  • Its an awsome song to listen in the dark and fall asleep too. The only speed bump is pressing reset though :0/

  • Roxanne, this one is for us. Dancing the night away to this one and then riding off into the sultry summer night in 1978 on my chopper. God - we looked so righteous back then. We changed so much, but, time didn't bury us or the memories of that night so long ago.

  • One of the greatest song of all time LOVE IT

  • I loved this song when it first came out...and i still do

  • Goddamn....This song is pure adrenaline. I play it regularly in the tape-deck (yes, tape-deck) in my '73 DeTomaso Pantera....I'm always thinking: "What a fine way to die...170 mph and this song." Yeah, I'm sorta crazy, and at 53 years-old, no less. But, man that guitar kicks in, and it's 5th gear and rubber sliding. Life is good, when filled with such memories.

  • @WasabeJoe Brother, you sound as tho you still bangin it,so who gives a fuck what a number is.170 mph,and poppin off listenin to sounds, only one thing i can think of better, fuckin till ye die.Tellin ye man.Bounce some rap,and cop for them birds.

  • @WasabeJoe i feel you man,i feel you......driving my 1987 golf mk2 16v (my fist car from back in 1996 and i still got it !)@2012.....

  • 10 people should never get to be in the DRIVERS SEAT........

  • Such a great song from start to finish...love this song...

  • this song gives me goose hard ons - not pimples!

  • @broncobra hahahahahaha does that make it HARD to sit in the drivers seat then?

  • easily get into the top 100 songs of all time ! It's my no. 1

  • Fantastic song from The album Fickle heart, The rest of the album was disappointing.

They even tried to write another song called driving beat but, It fell very short of this masterpiece.

  • Does anyone know if this band was all that famous? I am absolutely addicted to this song but this is the only thing I have ever heard by them.

  • @rsandwowrock It is their only hit. People call them a "one hit wonder"

  • @Doomemperor1 Big deal. The Grateful Dead were a one hit wonder. Most great bands didn't have any hits. Most hits were by "flash-in-the-pan" artists. Hits mean nothing.

  • @Doomemperor1 If you are only going to have one hit - do it like this! Why do you bad mouth them? if you think you can do better - go for it. or SHUT UP!

  • @broncobra I love this song! I was just trying to answer a question but it came out wrong. Sorry.

  • @rsandwowrock -- Well.... the rest of their material... is pretty god Aweful......... yeah.. I have a couple lp's of theirs.... most songs don't have any groove..UNLIKE this one.. this Rocks! ... it's like they couldn't pull it all together...... similar to ICEHOUSE... Crazy and Electric Blue --- GREAT!!1.. most of their other stuff.. man not so good... Man OF Colors lp.. was all awesome... -- check it out..

  • @gremlinjr Thanks!

  • You can't even see the dislike bar.

  • @Doomemperor1 is here a dislike bar for this song?? I think of not!!

    greatest music ever!

  • @Doomemperor1 there shouldn't even be a dislike bar for some songs, even old punk rockers like a bit of smooth music

  • cool song! remember this when i was a teenager!

  • I have always loved this song! And loved it in the Lincoln commercials!!!

  • Thumbs up if you made a playlist of just old rock!

  • @Doomemperor1 I grew up listening to 70s music and I was able to download all these songs and burned them to CDs. Long live the 70s or at least the music.

  • @Doomemperor1 Dude, you list has Sean Paul in it, how can you call that 'old rock'?

    Kids nowadays.

  • You know how modern visual artists have said to Romantic and Renaissance art that the cant do better so they do something different.......

Well that's what all the new music artists (*cough cough*) have said. They have said that they cant beat them, so they gotta do something different.

  • The introduction of Modern Pop was like the Apocalypse of good songs.

  • Your right, it would be.

  • This song reminds me of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book......

  • I'm a teen in 2011 and although much of my kind disagrees, these are the real, pure, rich songs. It is so sad that songs like this will no longer be made.

  • @Doomemperor1 Only if there were more young listeners like you today. Today's music would be far different and better!

  • @Doomemperor1 Same here, 15 years old, this is my style.

I feel the same about cars and music, from 40's & 50's to 60's & 90's: My golden age of music and cars.

  • @SkullSyker with 60's & 90's I meant from 60's TO 90's :P

  • This song was also on the PBS documentary Carrier.

  • A truly great record, but about 30 seconds too long.

  • @ImDavidGurney

I disagree, I've always craved more of the solo and thought I had a copy of the song that ended early.

  • lol futbol24 took that bleeping sample and used it everytime a goal gets scored

  • the Tears were a 1-hit wonder, here in America.

  • @DaveWollenberg I think pretty much everywhere.

  • The guy sounds like an up-tempo Bob Dylan

  • The internet has stagnated music creactivity.

  • I suppose it's been mentioned elsewhere in the comments, but your lyrics are wrong. They were printed on the album liner, so I'm sure they're out there for you somewhere to copy. it's driving, not jiving, she had another way of looking at life, not alive, and it is elite both times, not lead. Nice audio. Thanks for posting!

  • @sobrcelt Oh, and it's "I'll never remember my time with you." :-)

  • Memory...

    Thank's for posting!!!

  • one of my all time favorites

    cheers to sniff n tears

  • 9 people don't have a driving licence ;D

  • prolly/ bck when we used to play this together.

  • See Danny you could have stumped me with this one. lol

  • Classic!!!!!!

  • I love the way that Paul Roberts chose 'Jenny' for the girl's name in the lyric. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • i heard this on the radio last night, now i'm stuck in the driver's seat...

  • i agree with rockthestagenyc (nice name by the way) no one these days can compare to the good old music of the 60's, 70's and 80's!!! and fuck justin ;P

  • I love the drums in this song....doesn't speed up, doesn't slow down.

  • 3:11 to 3:45 is my favorite part :)

  • misschien nee zeker de mooiste song die ik heb gehoord

  • splendid and nostalgic to cry on and on ! thanks for upload

  • Art Bell

  • good old day''s.....they were better.....

  • one hit wonder,,weres the justice !...a classic.

  • Judge: Tell me Ms. Replay where did Mr. Arrow click you?

Replay Button: Here (gestures entire body) *cries*

Judge: And how many times did you say he clicked you?

Replay Button: OVER 9,000!!!!!!! times your honor...

judge: And what do you have to say Mr. Arrow

Arrow: Dude, I told you already I only clicked on her maybe 10 times.

judge: Mr. Arrow you're going to internet prison for an entire year.

Arrow: Dammit, how am I supposed to do my job now?

Me: Where is my damn arrow?

  • nice song . awful sound quality

  • @MrJasonroy I agree, not like the sound quality of youtube dot com/watch?v=OXzArmGh6hs&feature=BFa&list=FLFtwBsfZpSxU&index=6

  • @MrJasonroy have to agree... way too much bottom end distortion. but i love this song

  • here's to boogie nights

  • This was one song that made the 70s more bearable for me

  • boogie nites biatch "Tha Colonel"

  • People may call this band a one hit wonder but they have a lot of very good songs on their greatest his cd. CHECK THEM OUT !!!!!

  • shame they were a one hit wonder as they have a great sound. lovely feel to it.

  • im drunk as fuck but this is one of my all times favorites for sure.. sniff n tears rocks

  • Dont worry Becca...this band was a 1 hit wonder.....faded out fast

  • @ BeccaJocelynn go listen to Bieber or something if you don't like it instead of making ignorant comments like that

  • I remember hearing this for the first time when a station here didn't play the billboard top 40, just the top rated "tracks" of the week. this song was a bit hidden at the time.

in an interview with the lead singer, he said he wanted to be a painter, his father was a painter then it went right into the #1 track of the week. still can remember it!

  • "Floyd Gondoli......"

  • i spent many a night roller skating to this song

  • @ Slayer: Yep, you're absolutely right about Majors, she changed her name (until they divorced) to Farrah Fawcett-Majors....but when she died, he was with her til the end.

  • any other bands that sound like this song?

  • Great song. Just learnt to play the chords on guitar!! (not very well!)

  • Where is the rest of their music from this album? Every song is great on the "12 vinyl

  • you have class taste ,just like me.

  • CLASS..

  • the bands name is Sniff 'n' the Tears

  • awesome tune! makes me drive faster though..

  • rock that you can dance to or just sing along.sing along.........

  • Proper music! Just the way I like it! ^_^.

  • Love this song. what energy... makes me want to take a drive and blast the radio to this!

  • good and remembers.....better than most of the stoff today

  • Swear I'd heard this song for decades and never knew the title or the bands name till today i heard "drivers seat"and typed it in

  • what a track! pirelli actually used this song in one of their commercials, i didnt know of the song until now :D

  • I love this song ( from Greece )

  • nice song, but what means jiving ? A little jiving on a Saturday night

  • @frysk001 its supposed to be driving....

  • @SuperKONR ok, i can't find it in dictionay

  • frysk001 jiving, a type of dancing, came out in the 50s?!?

  • For those of you who remember K-TEL put this on the arising *80* album..this was the best of what the record industry was promoting back in 1979..the same year i saw Farrah Fawcett posing for playboy!

  • @SlayerCrampsMisfits Hell yeah honey Farrah!!! was in my teens then MMMMMMMMMMMM. Think she used to be married to Lee major's (something like that) who played "THE 6 MILLION DOLLAR MAN" ???

  • Great song for listening to on the way to footballl.... heard it an untold number of times driving to Wolfsberg a few years back.

  • This songs reminds me of the movie Boogie Nights

  • This is one of those guilty pleasures, like 'Died in Your Arms' by the Cutting Crew. The lyrics don't mean much, but the music is sort of annoyingly catchy,

  • jenny was sweet??

  • @BeccaJocelynn We had great music back then, the best.....but this my dear wasn't one of them. It doesn't stand up or hold up.Listen to RADAR LOVE, then come back to this...it sucks. We had some bad tunes back then too. This then is one. 76'-79' was a scary time for "Our Music".........Respectfully.

  • one of my all time favorites.. and that synth sound fits so well in this song.. excellent choice was that

  • My Maths teacher is in this band lol you wouldnt think it at all good old birkin

  • great song!

  • A much better audio take.

  • 6 people are riding bitch

  • Boogie Nights!

  • @lukebccb Well put. My kids listen to stuff like this, as well as newer stuff; some of which I like, and some I think is crap! But, to each his own.

  • @scrawnyman01 Dumbass, you just replied to the wrong comment. Call it a night.

  • Please, stop saying that todays music sucks, because there are a lot of different styles, and you can't say every style is bad. So if you say that the kids today don't have culture or taste for music, you're wrong. Every generation has his own style! I listen to pop and rock, but I also love this song and this kind of music! Every generation has good and bad music, that's just how it always was and always will be :) (and sorry for my bad English ;p)

  • @zoezazee2 - ummm Justin Beiber won FOUR AMS's - one of them for "Performer of the Year". Still want to say today's music doesn't suck?

What of todays artists will still be touring and making music 20 years from now? I can't think of one. There are NO U2's, Bon Jovi's, AC/DC's, Fleetwood Mac's, hell not even any Stevie Wonder's, Aretha Franklin's of this generation. Not even of the last one.

The bar for music is set so low any Nimrod with a PC can make an album.

  • @RocktheStageNYC anyone that compares this song to anything that little fruit beiber sings should have his ears burned off with a white-hot stove poker. beiber will be in the discount bin in 12 months and completely forgotten in 3 years at ,least anyone that enjoys music hopes so!!!!!

  • @RocktheStageNYC

Your last sentence pretty much sums it up (more's the pity)

  • @RocktheStageNYC Those kind of bands don't exist anymore because no one can live up to what they've played

  • @RocktheStageNYC Yup Especially Justine beiber, seriously.... you did not just try to defend Justine Beiber On here....

  • @theonlyman9319 - read my comment again. I am saying they are giving awards out to Beiber for Performer of the Year. Thats how bad things are.

I thought my last line pretty much cemented my POV.

  • @RocktheStageNYC .... get plugged with your paragraphs about bullshit

  • @Gabe1691 - get educated.

  • @Gabe1691 - ??? how about get educated and make sense.

  • @Gabe1691 - ah another product of the Candaian educational system. Read a book, start making sense.

  • EPIC SONG!!!!!!

  • My parents generation said the same thing about "our" music. Funny how each gen thinks it's is the best:)

  • @mellowdeeeeee - but this does really suck.

  • the bass guitarist of this band just soo happens to be my Maths Teacher, his name is Chris Birkin =)

  • some of the music in the 70s sucked too...

  • Comment removed

  • Came out the year I got my license too-I used to blast it on the speakers whenever I would sneak the car to areas (downtown Victoria) I wasn't supposed to be in. They don't make 'em like they used to, but, damn, I'd never trade those memories for anything! Only thing is, I never quite figured Jenny out, but like her, I have "another way" of looking at life....

  • i luv this song

  • EARGASM whenever he says "yeah" haha.

  • My driving song when I got my license at 16-still brings up the times I'd sneak the car out and drive around the city, just 'cos I could!

  • For those of you who say great music was only made in the past and everything today is rubbish - I have one word for you: DISCO. This proves that plenty of rubbish was made in the past as well. People in the late 70s would have been saying the exact same thing about the current music, as people today are. That said, this is a great song and surprisingly one of the few non-disco songs of the era??

  • @Davez621 to bad everyone don´t feel the same...good music comes from the past :) atleast thats what i think

  • NOW THIS IS MUSIC!

  • I love the song ^^

  • @becca,, youll be surprised at how , the older you get, the smarter your parents become...

  • @BeccaJocelynn Your father has a nice taste in music, listen to him.

  • @Audio4You WIN! :P

  • @Audio4You hey, good rock is good rock.

  • @BeccaJocelynn .True classic from the era.

Dad has good taste.(like me, lol)

  • @BeccaJocelynn Your so dumb... my dad made me tell you.

  • @BeccaJocelynn New music sucks..... no one writes thier own music anymore.... hell..... most "perfomers" today cant even read music or play a musical instrument!

  • @BeccaJocelynn Kids today, have no culture. Todays music is no longer a form of art. Why do you think todays music samples older songs, do covers on older songs and sometimes steal riffs, beats, chorus' and etc. from older songs. Listen to your father, not the television.

  • @gcgx "listen to your father" is that the advice you took when you joined the army, or did the exact same things everyone else did to please society? Also "older" musicians did covers of songs too, ie Led Zeppelin's cover of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" or all the songs that the Beatles covered? Covers=artistic interpretation.

& if you had a television you probably would have listened to it. Did you even listen to your father? Either way you answer it, makes you look stupid for even saying it.

  • @TheNewMeChannel What are you talking about, you make no sense. I was talking about todays music, not music from the 60s. Artistic quality was above and beyond in the 60s even their covers. That is not the case today, and then you say I'm stupid because I supported someones father in his pointing them in the direction of this song, by any chance do you have issues with your father? or you're just trolling, whichever it is have fun with that.

  • Comment removed

  • @gcgx and what is "the music of today"? Mainstream music? Seriously? And I'm sure Sniff N Tears was super popular and something that parents that listened to Frank Sinatra wanted their children to hear? How do you evaluate artistic quality when it's completely subjective? How do you evaluate artistic quality when you have a bias? and I'm only accusing you of having a bias because every damn person who has something to say about todays music and todays kids is stuck in the past..must be a reason

  • @BeccaJocelynn By the simple idiocy of this comment, I can say with complete confidence that your music collection is likely the most powerfully puke-building compilation in the world. Anyone who calls this song "dumb" has been brainwashed into thinking Lay GAGa and her fellow whores partake of the fallacy that they actually know something about music.

  • @tyme4mike You're damn skippy!!! ♫♫♫ I love this song! It's timeless.

  • @crashintome100 Sometimes my mouth goes into gear before my brain gets engaged...

  • @tyme4mike I apologize for my bluntness. I just love the song that much.

  • @tyme4mike No need to apologize for your opinion or your passion for music. I've always loved this song too. It's the haunting melody that does it for me.

  • @BeccaJocelynn yep a bunch of negros jumping around talking about sex drugs and money like in every one of their songs is alot better than this shit....

  • @Nitroman08 go fuck yourself you racist prick. you don't have to bash rap music so that you can defend your corny shit. DRIVERS SEAT, OOH YEAH!

no but I actually like this song. I found it while looking for a rap song with the same title. "Negroes" make good music too, open up your mind before you die.

  • @BeccaJocelynn You know nothing about music child, hahahah.

  • @BeccaJocelynn In the opinion of most of us "old farts" ths song is one of the 100 best of all time - a beautifully orchestrated , true mid-range understated rocker that shows beyond all doubt why so many of us think that today's music is missing these essential elements.

  • @akibubba1

Well said mate. You've summed up this song and the sad state of today's music perfectly.

This is a great song, one of the best driving songs ever made. They certainly don't make music like this anymore. From one "old fart" to another, I salute you!

Thank you Audio4You for uploading this 70's classic.

  • @akibubba1 So true and couldn't of said it any better!

  • @akibubba1 if it wasn't for us "old farts" there wouldn't be any young punks.

  • @akibubba1 So easy to be bamboozled by notions such as that, and hard to find music in the times before YouTube - this song is now in my top 2000, but at 1500 or so, and I have only just gotten started making playlists

  • I love this song and is one of my fav's

  • my personal opinion... they wanted you to miss hear the lyrics becuz it works at so many levels....

  • My favorite one, allways wen i drive i hear this song ....

    AMAZING!

  • i need an instrumental of this song

  • Hey VolunteerRifleman, RIGHT ON MAN, Todays music sucks!!! YOU ROCK .
