I would like to see Congress try this is on Rugby ..OR UFC or MMA fighting whats the difference? Why are they not attacking them as well? I'm pretty sure there is 100 times more head trauma in those sports then in NFL.
But how many pee wee, highschool and college MMA UFC or Rugby leagues are there. One sport at a time, If you start with the most popular more and more people will know about it.
Roger Goodell and David Weir are criminals and should be put in prison.
Only Goodell and Weir would draw the most ignorant conclusion that there would be no brain damage if men were to smash their heads together for years. Did these two dummies play football? There's no doubt, people are stupid and people do stupid things. But I'm betting even the most seriously brain damaged football player knows that his mental capabilities aren't what they use to be.
As a somewhat of an expert on brain damage. I would like to see Roger take a hit to the brain once a week for several weeks. The guys back in the 70's did not make the money these guys are today, but still is it worth depression and permanent brain damage?
This is serious, the NFL has been covering this up for years now. They have disputed indepentednt studies, and point to their own studies that were done by doctors that were not trained in the field of neurology. When they did use an expert they dismiised the findings. Asking them to do something about it is like asking the fox to gaurd the hen house.
I'll be cliche here when I find congress spending its time trying to determine if a handful of millionaires face health risks due to head injuries. The players don't have to play and the idea that they often keep injuries secret, because they need the money is ludicrous.
The helmet is used for head protection, not for slamming it on your opponents head. There needs to be some serious regulations in the NFL.

It must be hard for them, the players, I mean football is now like the gladitorail battles of ancient rome in where the crowd cheered for more blood.

Everybody knows the risk in playing. you can get paralyzed, have head truma, break and arm, break a leg.
You can't have these guys walk out with a metal armor suit.
