I don't feel completely bad for people who voted for Alvin Green for the reason this lady stated. Many people I know, including myself, don't follow local politics and we have to pick from candidates we don't recognize and just pick on name. If you get to the polls and find you're still unfamiliar with candidates in a certain race, skip it and move on. It's not a test-- you're not required to answer all questions. To "just pick on name" is totally irresponsible and is how morons like Obama and Greene get elected.
In an ideal world, yes we should take more time but when we are talking about the lesser offices the campaigns aren't as polished, informative, or even that well run on both sides unlike the bigger ones for governor or congress and such. With our busy lives don't expect a grand inquiry on each one. Obviously a set up by the Right. I am an Independent and have been disgusted over the last few years by the Republicans and how they taint elections. We hear about rigged voting machines and getting legitimate voters off the rolls and now this. I'm all for a regular person running for a major office and winning but a person doesn't come out of no where and win like that, not in today's political arena. This is something you would only find in a movie script.

I don't feel completely bad for people who voted for Alvin Green for the reason this lady stated. Many people I know, including myself, don't follow local politics and we have to pick from candidates we don't recognize and just pick on name. Of course, this only happens for lesser things like assistant person counsel to whatever and not bigger positions like this.

@loszhor - All registered voters receive a sample ballot in the mail weeks prior to the election-- take a few minutes our of your life to do your research, even in the "lesser" races, so you can make wise choices. If you get to the polls and find you're still unfamiliar with candidates in a certain race, skip it and move on. It's not a test-- you're not required to answer all questions. To "just pick on name" is totally irresponsible and is how morons like Obama and Greene get elected.

In an ideal world, yes we should take more time but when we are talking about the lesser offices the campaigns aren't as polished, informative, or even that well run on both sides unlike the bigger ones for governor or congress and such. With our busy lives don't expect a grand inquiry on each one. But like I said I'm not defending the people who voted for him on name, I'm just making a statement on how it happened and I that I understand where they are coming from.
