The best voices in country music today are Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood and Wynonna. I realize that Trisha and Wynonna haven't put out a record in a while but you can't deny those voices. Of course this is just my opinion. I think they all have a place in country music.
Carrie is fantastic, but Martina hasn't won 4 Female Vocalist awards for no reason. Martina can out-sing Martina, any day. I'm not trying to put Carrie down, but Martina is the Queen Of Country Music, and to all of the people who think anyone can out-sing Martina, well you are definitely wrong. hm, that is not true actually! martina has a voice that is more seasoned and with better technique, but carrie has a higher chest voice range. the highest martina has is an E, and you can tell she is not using her full chest voice, but carrie has an F# which is in chest. martina's voice has a fuller body to it because of her breathing, but that does not have anything to do with range, people don't realize it. it's the same with christina a., her chest notes aren't that high!
Love both. My favourite singer of all time is Carrie, but Martina wears the country crown. The moment she steps down from that crown, though, Carrie's gonna wear it. :)

Both Carrie and Martina are belters and they both have very powerful voices. Martina's voice is more powerful than Carrie's but I think Carrie's range is a little bigger than Martina's. I don't think Martina can hit the note Carrie can in 'All American Girl'. I also think Carrie's voice is more soothing; check out Carrie's version of 'Make the World Go Away' and then check out Martina's version of the song. That's just my opinion but both are fantastic.

I love Martina's voice and have for years! it's rich and full and crystal clear! Carrie's voice is good but it's nasally and whiny at times. Martina sings from her diaphram whereas it seems Carrie sings through her nost.

definitely Martina. She's a natural powerhouse and can handle ballads. Carrie tries and she's good, but it's too forced. Imagine sitting at her concert and listening to her sing ballads and always forcing the stronger notes out.

rename it HOTTIE vs. HOTTIE or BEAUTIFUL vs. BEAUTIFUL they are both very attractive i have always loved Martina but im starting to fall in love w/ Carrie too love to see them in concert together

I love Martina's voice and have for years! it's rich and full and crystal clear! Carrie's voice is good but it's nasally and whiny at times. Martina sings from her diaphram whereas it seems Carrie sings through her nost.

Okay, I LOVE LOVE LOVE them both, but Martina's way better live. She hits those notes with ease, where Carrie can hit them, but it takes a lot more effort.

Neither one of them has a better voice than the other they are both very amazing and Martina is an amazing and so is Carrie but they are the same. And I dont think that Carrie tries to be better because if anyone of MArtinas fans or CArries fans knew anything about CArrie yall would know that Martina is Carrie's idol she looks up to her. They are both great and very talented. That can be proven.

its clearly obvious who is the better singer,MARTINA MCBRIDE BLOWS CARRIE AWAY,martina has a hell of alot more power behind that beautiful voice,carries gonna have to step it up a few notches if she ever wants to be even close to martina sorry but anybody with working ears will tell you that martina mcbride kicks carries ass,martina is def the best country singer,carrie is OVERRATED,haha,so voodooman123 how bout clean them ears out bro

definitely Martina. She's a natural powerhouse and can handle ballads. Carrie tries and she's good, but it's too forced. Imagine sitting at her concert and listening to her sing ballads and always forcing the stronger notes out.

In my opinion, it's Martina McBride hands down, she's just so powerful and versatile. But Carrie is really good too, just give her a couple of years.

i think that carrie wins this one, her voice is fuller and can handle the high notes more.i feel like martina is just forcing and shouting at times. my opinion.
