This tutorial WORKED for me! My PS3 is now basically connected directly to my laptop via (1) ethernet cable. Thanks a lot Brad. You saved me money, and this headache I have had for the passed month. I was about to buy a new router and another ethernet cable to do the old fasion way. Just now, I literally disconnected my cable modem/router. I literally have my laptop directly connected to my PS3 using a ethernet cable, and it works.

This way worked but it worked better for me to not enable the sharing settings on the wireless but to bridge the connection. The major improvement for me having the ps3 not on the wireless is that streaming transcoded hd movies from my pc to the ps3 doesn't skip anymore because it's not sharing the wireless network with the other 5 people playing games and streaming netflix, etc. in this house. Good tutorial!!

dont know what happned but when i turned my computer off it wouldnt work, SOLUTION: disable the sharing on the wireless reciever (what he shows you to enable) and highlight the local area network and the reciever you are using . then right click them and click bridge connections, worked for me anyway

Ok this is how it worked for me,maybe will do so for u also: Disable windows firewall and ur antivirus firewall,follow all the steps of the video untill ps3 network configuration of DNS settings-->Manual-->Primary DNS server 208.67.222.222 Secondary DNS server 208.67.220.220 and ur done hope it helps others also. :)

All I had to do for this to work on Windows 7 was enable the LAN and then make my Wifi Shared. Worked wodnerfully, was plug and play, then I plugged it into one of my iMacs, surfed the web for about 5 minutes, and then brought the Wifi COmputer back to my PS3, plugged it in, and now for the life of the me I cannot get the filthy fucking cocksucker to work. FUCKING FUCK, man.

U can us ur laptop windows 7 and share networks. and connect to wireless router that u have and turn on ps3 and search for media severs and u can get ur PC on there then u can look off ur pc from videos, music etc..., but u cant see programs.

Take an Ethernet cable

Attach it to the router and then to the ps3

do the settings on the pc as u have advised

then connct the ps3, and do the setting on the ps3 as you have advised.
