I remember every time we went to the arcade diner our family used to race each other. I raced my brother at this course, and he turned into the pits accidentally at the turn at 0:49. I was like 12 at the time, and I can still remember playing this even though I am in college (I run Daytona USA 2001 on Dreamcast emulator)

I wish they'd release Daytona 2 on the PS3/360. But as the last SEGA Rally flopped (the team went to Codemasters), the chances look slim. And SEGA has fallen well behind when it comes to racers. None of the top racing franchises are done by SEGA. And don't get me started on Scud Race.....

this game did not only looked good way back in time, it STILL amaze me how exelent the graphics are. virtua racing was sega's firs 3D racer, and this is their forst 3D racer with texture mapping, a exelent performance from sega :-D thanks for sharing and let us relive this masterfull game!

What's so different about the Revision A of this game?

It's the 1993 version, it's a bit harder than the more common 1994 version, and the attract mode intro is different (camera angles)

@paulsbuck5 no it wasn't a beta, I have seen it in the arcades before, It was quite a common version used mostly in the drive board cabinet that had the camera on it,, there would be a screen on the side, or if the machines were grouped together, in the middle, and it would show the players on it while they were playing

@tom2215 The camera angles are diffrent in the Attract mode but the gameplay is still the same, I saw a mall here that just stopped playing the 1993 Deluxe of Daytona USA because of Glitches.

I dunno - I only know how to get the Daytona USA ROM working - I dont know what or how to get SSF working

Make sure you have the Bios file named SEGA_100.BIN. Then use Daemontools to mount the image. But if you have the Disks it will play strait out of the drive. For some reason I can't get .CUE files to play on it. They have to be .ISO files :\ .. But hey ! The Dreamcast Versions are better to work with anyway.

You have to open it with a ZIP program (Such as 7Zip, WinZip or Extract Now)

Dont forget to change your directory in the EMULATOR.INI file so the game can find the Daytona USA rom

The music in the race itself is called "Sky High" (but sometimes it's called "Blue, Blue Skies") and the music in the menu is called "Start Your Engines".
