so in other words, pure trash is sundance material? i was always wondering about that.

I used to like Sundance when it was about film. Now, it's nothing more than a back door for Hollywood's crap using burned out A list and B list stars to promote their films. The whole point of Sundance WAS showing film's from new true Independent filmmakers. Shame on Redford for not upholding his festival's true meaning and giving into Hollywood's fame and fortune. True Independent filmmakers around the world laugh at Sundance. Sundance now is nothing more than Hollywood's bitch.

I think its more like..hmm lets keep all the ones with a decent budget and have same A actors in it...for the most part. That probably leaves about 75 more for the great international movies that will peremier in the u.s. I mean Quentin Tarintinos film was there this year. Leave some spots for TRUE indie film makers!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Hopefully other festivals will overtake Sundance as the "Standard" and make them rethink what they are doing.

I dont mind them doing it like that i suppose but just don't come off as a festival that works with Indie film makers. Why not have a category of films that cost 1-10 thousand dollars? Not everyone is friends with a celebrity or has access to producers and 150,000 dollar budgets.

Sun Dance film festival is fast becomming a soft porn channel. Honestly, look S.D. U Tube posts to date... about Sex, i.e. Choke, Good Dick, and the bisexual due in Philly. Maybe this is why kids only watch the same ol' corporate Disney/Pizar crap, over and over. Are we into high School Musical 25 yet? I'm a screenwriter/film maker is the only chance of me entering to joing this swinger club! This isn't sour grapes it's realiy it's represented in wo these power freaks are CHOOSING.
