Court ruling...Federal officials will not pursue civil rights violations or other charges against the boot camp guards implicated in the death of this 14-year-old boy ?? I would also point out that two of the guards were black, and one was asian. This is not a racially motivated thing. True, these guards are police officers who are running a boot camp filled with mainly gang bangers and otherwise rough law-break youths (something that Martin Lee Anderson is not exempt from) - These guards are going to be prejudice a little bit against these kids - not because of their skin color but because of the their positions.
Listen - I'm sure this has already been said but there is a large controversy dealing with whether martin died of complications of sickle cell (brought on by physical exercise) or wether the amonia capsules they forced him to inhale killed him. There are strengths and weaknesses to both arguments - despite whether they killed him or not - this IS horrid and abusive treatment. Even for someone as delinquent as Martin Lee Anderson.
In an environment that administers disapline like this, what do we expect ? To send home our young reformed and who have seen the errors of their ways ? Or to send home stronger,angrier people ? All they show these vunerable people is more violence, a lack of compassion and how to teach them the tactics of being intimidating and a bully.

@autiharrison i went to martin county boot camp at 15 and it probably saved my life so it does help there are alot of success stories...the issue isnt the camps its the people they hire to do the job we had good and bad drill instructors...and dont forget there are 14 and 15 year old kids out there shooting and killing people too he wasnt in that camp because he was a boy scout

A main problem is how a jury is set up. A change that would help, is a jury can convict on a lesser charge. What happens is: the person is being charged with a lot of prison time. The truth is anderson who was severely tired and out breath refused to continue the workouts they were doing because he was out of breath and when the guards, who were black and white tried to force him into going back to the workouts, one of the guards put him into a choke hold combined with him being severely tired and out breath it sufficated him to death because he was not able to breath. right after the incident governor banned all these kind of bootcamps in state of florida

Second, he died of natural causes and had no physical injuries at all which means there was no excessive force and definitely no torture. I would also point out that two of the guards were black, and one was asian. This is not a racially motivated thing. True, these guards are police officers who are running a boot camp filled with mainly gang bangers and otherwise rough law-break youths (something that Martin Lee Anderson is not exempt from) - These guards are going to be prejudice a little bit against these kids - not because of their skin color but because of the their positions.

Listen - I'm sure this has already been said but there is a large controversy dealing with whether martin died of complications of sickle cell (brought on by physical exercise) or wether the amonia capsules they forced him to inhale killed him. There are strengths and weaknesses to both arguments - despite whether they killed him or not - this IS horrid and abusive treatment. Even for someone as delinquent as Martin Lee Anderson.

My mom knew Martin Lee Anderson's parents. My best friends dad is, Raymond Hauck, the guy who shoved the amonia tablets in his nose. Last night, I spent the night at my friends dads house. My mom thought the last name was spelled differently and didn't think anything about it when my friends mom dropped us off. So, my mom comes to pick me up this morning, and as soon as we got in the car told me who he was. I was horrified. And my friends mom told mine that he used to work in law enforcement. :O

This kid was 14 years old and although he did have a rap sheet and a history - he wasn't exactly a mass murderer. A main problem is how a jury is set up. A change that would help, is a jury can convict on a lesser charge. What happens is: the person is being charged with a lot of prison time. So they dont convict. Even if they were found guilty of SOMETHING, would help. They make it sound like, they did the right thing. They sure as hell didnt. The NURSE should be convicted. She alone cant say 'doing her job'. her job was the opposite job, not to BEAT PEOPLE, but to keep them alive. She watched murder

The truth is anderson who was severely tired and out breath refused to continue the workouts they were doing because he was out of breath and when the guards, who were black and white tried to force him into going back to the workouts, one of the guards put him into a choke hold combined with him being severely tired and out breath it sufficated him to death because he was not able to breath. right after the incident governor banned all these kind of bootcamps in state of florida

to be honest this isnt even a race thing to me lets put all race issues aside. My thing is this is a 14 yr old boy who weighs no more than 100 pounds, we know he is bad that's why he was sent to boot camp, but to get that angry when he back talks just like every other child at boot camp is crazy. There is a mother out there hurt i mean yes her son might of been bad but never did she wish for him to be dead and def didnt expect that when she sent her son away to get help.

What a distgusting,degrading and appalling way to treat a 14 yr old kid. At the begining of this with these 3 gaurds and then this kid falls down from in front of them unconcious flat on his face. There is no question that what these officers did was wrong the question is whether or not this is a racist event. The answer is no. BLACK and WHITE cops killed the boy.
