Michael was my favorite axeman for 26 years.Watching his ups and downs had been a bit off putting as a fan.I heard Buckethead 3 years ago and have a new favorite but I'll always have a place for Michaels music.There are loads of really good guitarists and you cant choose who you think is the best.They choose you.The best is who you like the best.

Great contributors to Art/Science/Literature are often unrecognized as the best of their generation during their lifetime. I disagree. He's talented enough but will fade into obscurity just like those other players/bands that never made it to super-stardom. Is Uli not more gifted as far as pure guitar skills and is Buck Dharma not a more well rounded guitar player/song-writer/singer? Just my opinion but I have yet to be convinced of MS's guitar god status.

@clubninjarock well Schenker has been at the top many times ,he is 55 or 56 ,he doesn't have to convince anyone ,he has done it already, nobody could touch him when he was in UFO & with MSG ,but like you said ,that is your opinion & we all have our own favorite guitarists! I like other guitarists aswell but to me this is the best of them all!

this is my favorite version of this song. I love the way he subtly manipulates the wah to get those really throaty low notes. The real masters of the wah know how to use it to control the tone and not just to make the "wah wah" sound.

I can clearly hear the wah HERE! And as a pedal gear freak and electronist, i can totally disagree with you. On the original song, he uses wah left half cocked ;) i can guarantee you that. Here he used the wah, not letting it like in his original song on the album. I`m not saying that when YOU saw him, he did use a wah, but here, he did :D
