pacdset50; Actually this was the aircraft that flew the replacement parts and the guy to fix it (me) there. It is pretty awsome to ride to work in a world class fighter aircraft. ;)
Alexa08Eagles; It was a pleasure to be there and it was great to spend some time in Salinas and Monterey afterwards. It is a diverse and entertaining place.
i dont get why you people are asking him to try and get you a ride in one. 1) he doesnt know you 2) your a civilian. if you want to fly in one so bad, join the airforce and hope you get picked for fast jet training
so awesome to see a video from the cockpit of one of those flying at my home airport...i dont think my cessna could fly formation with an f/a-18 though...Didn't this aircraft have some kind of mechanical malfunction during it's demonstration last year during the saturday show?
Yea just go in as an AVN Tech and in about 4 years you might get up in one if your not a bag of shit and your boss likes you enough to give you the ejection seat course and high altitude training . Then your pretty much good to go , except its alot harder than it looks on tape even in the back
"If youhave $30,000 to spare, you can slide over to Russian and get into the back seat of a Mig 29! " It is hard enough to wrap your head around everything that is happening in English, let alone trying to look at Cryllic lettering on insturments and displays. Then there is always the rudimentry but honest attempt at english from Boris "Hurls" Yackov, your pilot...
Naw, I'd just pop in to the recruiter and sign up for a stint in your favorite AirForce...
Unless you have a government secret clearance (upgraded jets) and connections with the squadron (or you are someone like Bubbles, Mike Holmes, Tom Cochrane, etc) forget about getting up in one.
If you want it that bad...try and get into the military as a pilot...even then, competition is tight for jets.

Actually, I'm not a pilot. I am a technician, but I have the opportunity to fly back seat quite often.
Sure does rock my little world though, because who gets to do that?

Could you get me back there one time?

You're a bad-ass! I have complete respect for you as a pilot!
