great book, just finished it. never listened to the dead much at all before reading this, i got it because i never really got what the shows were all about. got all their albums now and loved the book

Glad to have you on board man....my advice though is to not worry about most of the albums and check out Live/Dead...the 5/8/77 absolutely mythical tape and the Amsterdam show from the Europe tour. Everybody Knows The Best Dead Is Live!!
