  • No......That was not the Last Boss........I waited 25 years to see this game beaten.....and that was it? BULL!

  • Is this dude cheating or what? LOL

  • Nevermind beading it.....I couldnt get past the 4th level on this one.

  • This game. Idiots today think that the japanese animu shmuppers, mainly the Touhou series are anything in the least hard. Fuck that. This game is one of the hardest shmuppers i've played, i can beat Perfect Cherry Blossom and Ikaruga on hardest difficulty settings, yet this game troubles me. It is unforgiving and evil, and i can't salute you enough for finishing it like this.

  • You pretty much have to no miss this damn game in the first place to beat it >.<

Dying on the last stage is a death sentence. Too many enemies firing at you to do anything about it.

  • yep, this vid answered my question.

  • You've got skills bro. It took me years of casual play to beat this one. Even with the konami code. I think what finally helped me win was a turbo-controller.

  • wtf so thats how u will do it...i can go through the final stage without dying but that thing that closes always gets me i never seen whats next that door ...lol now i know im soooooooo close to beat the game...hahahaha and that boss suck..lol and i remembered i thought that door was the boss .. i never enterd that door instead i wait for it to close and shoot it until i bump to it..lol

  • wow your timing is divine i never could get past the Stonehenge heads excellent run through

  • omg o_o

This is the lamest final boss!

  • Kangeki! Let's go next zone.

    Gotta love those old translations.

This takes me back... You can't help but feel embarassed for an empire that seems to put a lot (if not all) of it's budget into putting huge defenses (and then, in later games, fortifying them and then some) only to be destroyed by a single fighter. How many Big Core MK I's have fallen...

In ReBirth, the last boss actually DOES defend himself. He takes all of your options away. :( That's it, though.

  • dude why isn't this dude playing using the DOUBLE power up?????????

that double power up shoots your lasers upward as well as strait ahead!

  • 5:20

  • I love the music of the Lvl 5 and 7

  • This dude is incredible!!!

  • Umm...what happened towards the end?

  • How do u skip a stage? i get frustrated when i die on stage 3 or 4 coz if u die once that's it. it's over. Please how do u skip a stage? sometimes it just does it by itself. thank u

  • Well, to be honest, I have no idea myself! I think you have to obtain a certain score in a stage. I mean, I tried my best "not to" skip a stage for this run, but as you can see, I failed horribly!

You just have to be good or something. o_O

  • I think it has something to do with how well you do at each stage, like not take a hit or somethin'. That's what I believe was how to skip a stage.

  • You skipped a stage because you destroyed over 10 of the stone heads on stage 3. There's a few other warps too.

  • I've counted how many stone heads he destroyed on the previous video and I think you're right

  • @SHMUPGurus I belive you have to defeat the boss in less then 10s. That's what I've read somwhere. Not really sure.

  • @SHMUPGurus In level 1, when the thousands digit of your score is even, destroy 4 hatches Warp to level 3 after defeating Core Fighter

Destroy Xaerous Core at end of level 2 within 2 seconds of its core turning blue Warp to level 4

Destroy 10 stone heads in level 3 Warp to level 5 after beating level

  • still remember I almost beat this game 10 years ago,,, without knowing how the powerup works ^^! gameover because the door closed T___T

  • Thats the baddest thing that can happen !!!!

I'ver ever asked me if someone that goes so far could lose because of this....

  • Make a Burai Fighter walk through, lets see you get through that on one life!

  • i remeber my bro and i actually beat this without a game over

  • i can´t call zelos base (the brain) a final boss

  • yes xd he is like just standing and waits for you to kill him lol .

  • this is exaclty y i whish y i had time travilng powers go back in time and play this awsome game

  • Yes, I also noticed that sometimes the game by itself will add autofire, sometimes not.

It's a welcome glitch actually, it makes blasting all those 2-armed meteors of stage 5 possible.

  • and sometimes wen using turbo wen you enter a boss zone (to me the red balls with tentacles) the turbo will stop function wen it starts lagging and speaking of lag the snes one (gradius 3)lags continously from begining to end if you have all power ups, but thats not to bad on a side scroller...

  • why'd you circle the end thing.

  • warps are found that way

  • missed one of the red boss balls if it was suposed to be a no miss speed run...at 0:55

but nice i am playing this game now and always

one of the frist games i played on the arcade (nes 10 play choice) ...back in the 90´s good old days...

  • No miss means no deaths, doesn't mean killing every enemy.

  • sorry but for me (and maybe others) a no miss run is kill everything and dont lose any life !

  • He missed a bunch of dudes, but either they don't count or he meant no death run, as in death = miss. It may be something else, but if there was a third answer to a yes/no kind of question, I might care.

  • this game makes me cry because it s so good

  • why do yo circle the thing at the end?

  • how do you shoot so fast?

  • I believe it is a glitch that only occurs in the NES version of the game. I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with the bullets' spawning point. Other than that... I wouldn't really know why it's happening!

  • Also, you could always refer to the video description in Part 1 of this run. I think the best thing to do before posting anything about a run is to at least read what's inside of the little box on the right of the video! =P

  • oh i know, i own this game, accept i've never been able to go THAT fast.

  • thats called turbo fire.

  • Maybe it is, but I can assure you that no turbo-controller was used during this run (and any other run either).

  • how'd you go so fast though?

  • Like I've said above, I think it has something to do with the bullets' spawning point. The NES had a limitation in the number of sprites appearing on-screen, and instead of simply removing the enemy sprites when that number exceded (that would make the game easier), I think they made it so the shoot is "refired." Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! =P

  • yes i can see that the fire is random not so exact as turbo ...anyway i wasnt saying the video was done with turbo i was responding to someone that askedhow to shoot so fast, should had been more self explanatory in my answer...anyway i play this game sometimes on emu.. its wanderful and the psx1 version too, also the arcade ones. i have gradius for nes but my system is ntsc and the cartrige is pal :(

  • Many have joked about the utter weakness of the Bacterion Emperor.

Many more have said, after they were done laughing, "Maybe that entire level is the boss fight?"

  • This ending came from the Japanese version of the game, the US version has the ending that says "Congratulations!"

  • Great!!

  • yeah cool
