  • This was 1973??? So much ahead of their time, it's unbelievable!

  • Facts straight people. Don't get paranoid. Just fight or do your part. And enjoy the music, that's first and foremost....

  • The Dolls were before Bowie and influenced him. They're also b4 the Ramones. You're talking '71-72 vs '74-75. There's probably more irish & scotts than any other group. But they're all represented. I don't know why u have to bring in talk of management. Who cares? The corporate effect which is a separate thing, is a conglomerating, efficiency (tho not always efficient). Just like Marx said would happen -original philosopher of modern capitalist theory & socialism theory. Separate issues though..

  • Thunders is on fire in this video man!!!!!!!!

  • @emf665 Some of his best fret work is when he played on Music Laden. It;s incredible! Especially Bad Girl-

  • VIVA NEW YORK DOLLS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kiss is SHIT!

  • increible la calidad del video a pesar de tantos ayeres

  • NICE AND SLEAZY

  • TOO MUCH JUNKIE BUSINNES!

  • the sound guy fucked em on this one

  • Look like a mix between Kiss and Roxy Music..Sound a little bit like an adult version of the Ramones..That's New York City for you..

  • @801liveable This band probably influenced all those bands, except maybe Roxy Music which sound more experimental.

  • @Oni64 And crappy.

  • @801liveable kiss knocked off the dolls, shamelessly

  • @yoyomameetyoyopa I guess you like top 40..Did you ever hear of the Ohio Players? I'll give you a hint..The first letter of the song starts with............You're getting warmer!!!

  • @801liveable you guess wrong. nice try.

  • @yoyomameetyoyopa Kiss is a top 40 corporate band like The Monkees..The 'Dolls' like Bowie..Mott the Hoople..Hot Chocolate..Bryan Ferry..and especially The Velvet Underground and Ramones..were really all 1 of kind..I'm pretty sure Kiss was put together by some conglomorate in Israel...Uh..1..2..

  • @801liveable - I didn't say I liked Kiss or that Kiss was good, I said they knocked off the Dolls which is true. Peter Criss and Jerry Nolan were childhood friends who grew up in the same neighborhood in Brooklyn. Gene Simmons openly talks about in his autobiography how they got the idea for their stage makeup by seeing the Dolls play. So you're pretty sure but you're wrong.

  • @yoyomameetyoyopa Then I guess I read you wrong friend...But I still would put more creedance in The New York Dolls than Kiss..I never thought Kiss was a "band"..I guess I never took them seriously but who am I?..I thought The Motors would stand the test of time..

  • @801liveable - you seem to be the one reading wrong. No one is saying Kiss is good.

  • @yoyomameetyoyopa You said it not me.."No one is saying Kiss is good." Cause they're not..

  • @yoyomameetyoyopa I will say 1 thing though..I do like "Back In The New York Groove" Ace Freehly..but the band was apart then..Take care..

  • Look kids it's Buster Poindexter.

  • musikladen

  • love the dolls!!

  • Thunders had the coolest hair!

  • are they trannys

  • indeed the stooges & mc5..beat the daylights out of it...

  • the mighty punk scene form england in the grand old day..need to tip their hats to this..johnny rotten would still be living with his mum if it werent for these cats..& the ramones...

  • @andysczn Absolutely. America gave the world Punk Rock. I'm very grateful. I didn't know this was a Bo Diddley song. After all these years

  • @andysczn Yeah and go even further back with The MC5 and The Stooges. I would have to say tho for any band to get credit for sound it would have tobe The Kinks. There first few singles are some of the heaviest sounding records of all time, they help create Punk, Metal, Hard Rock ect. As for Punk everything else we Americans came up with it. I hate how people think Punk started like 1976 when it was around and being called Punk 2 years earlier in Queens with The Ramones

  • RIP all the great ones from Johnny to DeeDee to SidV

  • @RebelSpiritof77 Sid was not a " Great One ". Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Billy Murcia , Jerry Nolan , Arthur Kane , Johnny Thunders, Stiv Bators , Ron Asheton, Rob Tyner ect were the Great Ones. Sid was nothing more than a Poster puppet and a idol to wanna be Punks. Sid did nothing productice and coulden't play, and when he did play he was out of tune, out of key, out of time. He coulden't do anything himself, and that is the truth.

  • @tatethompson1234 Productive*

  • @tatethompson1234 Sid was good looking and had nice clothes. I read he began to get reasonably profficient on the bass before heroin took over. But he wasn't a patch on Glen Matlock. As a 15 year old I just saw him as an ignorant thug. But the people who claim to know him said he was a good bloke.

  • @gizzytiersen Yeah, many people have said that. He was a nice guy before he joined the band but then ego and drugs took over. I am just sick of seeing teens today idolize Sid and not know one thing about The Sex Pistols. Steve Jones is a brilliant guitarist, Paul Cook is a excellent drummer, his timing and rolls are insane and as for Glen he is a writing machine and brilliant bassist, he wrote most of the music and alot of the lyrics.

  • i wish something like this would just has a little fucking chance to be on german tv today.

all i see is this sick mind-machine for stupid sheeps.

    just träääääsch!!

    Stay free people :-)

  • glam rock had its place but what the hell was the bass player thinking??????

  • @MrSpiderpeg They were like this long before Glam was Glam. You think Arthur Dressed bad here? You should see some of the other gigs what they looked like lol

  • @MrSpiderpeg Arthur did not care

  • Trashy, ragged, glorious rock 'n' roll.

    Fantastic footage.

Oooooh. What has Arthur got on ? And David is speaking Deutsch.

    Ausgezeichnet.

  • @TOBERT001 oops. accidentally thumbed you down. my apologies. dolls are great

  • @lethe51 Yay, no worries. Keep rocking.

  • wow is this footage priceless...is this on dvd somewhere???

  • His German is priceless :-)

  • Trash is credited to Sylvain/Johansen. It also references Mickey & Sylvia's hit Love Is Strange i.e. "How do you call your loverboy?", "Baby, oh baby, my sweet baby, you're the one". The main GCD progression it's based on can hardly be classed as "composition". But then... to be fair, they did put all those elements together and it is a great song. I'd go as far as to say all those CBGBs bands primarily owe their existence to this one song.

  • Is Johnny T. Possibly thee worse guitar player ever.Did you hear how out ov tune both ov there guitars were. This is great footage, never seen this.I guess I can understand why the Eagles hated these guys.I mean yeah there the Dolls, but they do suk.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 woow a connoisseur, was that the reaction you expected, i mean the EAGLEs are great but who cares if they didnt get along we came here to listen to the DOlls but noo that wasnt enought for you

  • can someone send me trash or pills guitar tab please ?

  • @okornyalbaro the chords are E,A,B

  • @okornyalbaro the chords of trash are G,C,D

  • Nice drums!

  • those pussy hair bands of the 80's couldn't hold a candle to the dolls

  • ドールズいいわ アップありがとう

  • i bought their first album on the day of release and i still play it 38 years later!

  • Johnny didn't write this...its an ole blues tune...but JOHNNY THUNDERS WAS THE SHIT!!!!

  • Johnny Thunders writes good muse sick.

  • Great footage!
