Green, PLEASE: Lighten up, lose the facial hair, reunite with Gamson and Maher, get out and tour, and play material from Cupid & Psyche and Provision!
I was at this show...was very exciting to be there, but a lil sad that Green definitely seemed to want to forget most of the past, seeming almost embarrassed to play this (especially when his mac book would not cooperate). He even started out the entire show by announcing "There will be no'Perfect Way' tonight"....
the first time i heard the word girl , iI said who is this ???? I was automatically a fan . I bought the 12 inch and i could'nt wait until the album came out !!!
I was at the concert - having been an avid Scritti fan since the early 80s - and you could FEEL Green's utter frustration when the laptop malfunctioned and they couldn't re-create the perfectionist studio sound of Wood Beez - but he knew he HAD to play it to satiate the fans who paid to see him, so he busted out what was most likely the loosest improv he's ever done, or will ever do again? It was a magical show, even if some of the new material is a bit sleepy.
It was exciting to be there-I couldn't believe they never play America before but I was disappointed they didn't play "Perfect Way". Best Wishes. David
They may not have played live in America before this, but somewhere I have a tape of them lip syncing to Perfect Way and Wood Beez on American Bandstand in 1985!
the music is so cool !!!! i wish they could have toured with the guys from the first album: Nick Moroch , Fred Maher , David Gamson . WoW!!!! It's about time .
Thanks for posting. Got to point out, though, that because of technical problems at this concert Green virtually had to busk this song alone on guitar with makeshift accompaniment from his band. Normally it sounds like the record (with all the synth and drum sounds recreated), only even better!
just wondering how you knew this... were you at this concert or are you somehow associated with Green?
it would have been nice to hear a few more C&P85 or Provision tracks in the show but i understand he was touring to promote the new album. fun show though. glad i went. ive been a fan sice "Songs to Remember"... OMG has it been 25 years? GASP!
No just a fan in the UK excited to be going to the London gig tomorrow. I read several reviews of the Roxy concert mention the semi-improvised Wood Beez at that show due to laptop failure or something. Sounds OK but I guess you heard something a bit different at The Bowery.

I always thought he looked like Princess Diana! Sounds a lot like Jon Anderson.

Hey man - take this video down! It clearly features the back of my head and I didn't sign any release!
Just kidding - a cool little video reminder of being at the show.
Cheers

I'm the keyboard player - yep, this impromptu busking performance followed one almighty technological meltdown! Whoops.
