It create an new .esx file or a new sample library from wave samples. Then you transfer this library to your SD card and load it on Electribe. So you still need the SD card.
Actually is just to load the new samples (the .esx file) via SD card that will erase the internal memory and replace by the new samples. You should use the OpenElectribeEditor-v1.0.1.BETA to make a new .esx file with your customs samples. Do a backup of internal memory before do this.
No, the ESX has a 28MB internal flash memory, and and you need to load the samples from SD card to this memory before to use. This operation takes about 50 seconds.
Want to download those kits? Please visit the Korgforums . com and then go to the Electribe Section and do a search for Vintage_DM_Cesarsound. I post the link there.
@Cesarsound1 There is one problem. I dont have the Korg Electibe esx1 and have not thought about buying one. I thought it was midi samples that you loaded up on that website. But there I was wrong.
Nice drums! I have a question for anyone willing to help. I am looking to do live performance, using live instruments through loopstations, and I'm trying to find what would be the best solution for drums. If I go MPC, I don't want to be stuck behind it the whole time, I'll be playing multiple instruments as well. Can you program different drum patterns with the ESX, and change them live via the push of a simple button? or with MPC? I like the Redrum on Reason, if I could find a hardware version
Yes, you can program different drum patterns on ESX, but the ESX does not have an switch input. The only way is to connect a MIDI controller to the MIDI input of ESX, then you can start, stop, change patterns via MIDI.
You can use for example the MIDI controller M-Audio Oxygen 25.
@appliedsciencemusic Yes you can. You can immediately shift from a pattern to another, of from a song to another, simply turning the dial knob;If you change pattern/song while the machine is palying it will wait until the end of the pattern/song to start the new file in the reproduction queue. You can also program your sx to play a series of patterns/songs in succession, like a playlist;virtually you could prepare your performance in studio and during your live play it, edit sounds, effects, etc
@Cesarsound1 Unfortunately i am not in the electribe forum, if its not too much afford i really would appreciate if you could post a link with a zip file here. Thanks.
I had the old versions of the electribe series and also the 1st ESX but was not impressed with the memory type nor the size. now this has the ability to call up sammples from a 32gig sdhc card....so my question to you is, what is the longest sample you can play\sequence on this machine? can u run say 30 sec to 1 min or longer vocal samples? plz get back to me. peace!
The ESX SD is exactly the same as of old version and has an internal flash memory of 25MB, 384 samples (256 monaural, 128 stereo) or a maximum of 285 seconds (monaural), The difference is that it uses the SD card.
The vantage of SD is that you can have several "ALL" files inside a SD card and it loads very quickly, so the exchange the kits very easy. The otherfeatures are the same of previous model.
@Cesarsound1 so if programed correctly then you could sequence a nearly 5min.(4.75) sample? is this correct? if you dont know could you test that out if you have the chance? I would be happy to record some samples and fx from my Korg M50 for you if you could testthis out for me :)
If you delete all the ESX internal samples (initialyze all) there is room for 4.75 min of mono samples (44.1kHz 16 bits) or for 2.37 min of stereo samples (44.1kHz 16 bits) on internal memory. You may record some samples and fx from Korg M50 respecting the below limits.
yes, it can be hooked up into a numark mixdeck, cause it has audio line in (also mic in). The best part is that ESX has auto-bpm, so you can sinc it with your DJ track. And you can apply all the effects (delay, phaser, flanger, chorus, tube overdrive, etc) to the audio input. Remember that it uses 2 tubes 12AX7.
The vantage of SD is that you can have several "ALL" files inside a SD card and it loads very quickly, so the exchange the kits very easy. The other features are the same of previous model. It is very fun to play with it, you can spent many hours enjoying it. I use the free software ESX_Wave_Organizer_v0.1.8 and Open Electribe Editor-v1.0.1 in my PC to produce a group of kits (ALL file).
the OpenElectribeEditor-v1.0.1.BETA whats this do?
looks awesome dose this mean you no longer need the sd card

@Xevious76 Didn't you get the manual with your ESX? You can find one at Korg's web page. It has all the info you need on this machine.

Can anyone tell me, What's the main different between ESX1sd and EMX1sd? I need some information, thanks before :)
drzabogar 1 year ago
@drzabogar
EMX SD cannot load samples, cause it is not a sampler, it is a Synth only. If you want load diferent samples, like me, buy the ESX SD.

what are the tubes for ?
mitchTwitch 1 year ago
@mitchTwitch
The tubes are used to produce the tube overdrive sound and more phat sound. The level of overdrive can be adjusted from 0 to 100%.
