I've heard a ton of things about what is happening with Cas, some of the most interesting though is that he now has a mortal soul and Crowley has him secretly caged up in hell,another is that God will eventually cast him back to earth as a mortal, punishment for playing God, thus this will pick up the old 2014 storyline where Castiel is a human who turned hippie. And the final one, which I hope is true, is that Castiel is now a powerless angel in purgatory, and Dean and Sam go rescue him.

Is there a chance that Misha could come back not as Cas, but in some other incarnation? Oh definitely. It has always been our intention to bring back Misha in some form. When we called Misha to let him know that we had this plan for the character, we talked about this on a longer schedule than in these first two episodes. We certainly can’t say too much about where the story is going to go, but we love Misha and want to continue to work with him.

He knows he can't hold the Leviathans back much longer, and knows he probably will end up dying tonight. Castiel isn't Castiel unless he's played by Misha. I don't believe anyone would be able to fill Misha's shoes, to play this character so perfectly. When Castiel took over Jimmy's daughter for a short time, it was slightly interesting, but it really wasn't the same. I understand that it would be interesting to some to have Cas come back in a different form, but I'm sure Supernatural would have a drastic shift in the number of fans if they permanently bring Cas back played by anyone but Misha.

I'm not going to believe that Castiel is dead and gone either. If they were going to kill him off permanently then it should have happened in a way that makes it up to Dean and Sam, to try and make it right again. He hasn't gotten the chance to do so through dying like this. It just feels cheapened and wrong if Castiel is left with this death scene after all of the epic ones we've had on supernatural since it started, so I think he'll be back.

Then he came back, i was so happy! i really thought he would have the chance to make it up to Dean throughout the season... but then they killed him off like that. I don't think ive ever been more pissed about anything in a TV show than that. Castiel was one of the single best characters in the entire series and a lot of people's favorite. I never liked the idea of killing him off, but if they were going to, he should've died a better death

If God originally placed the Leviathian in Purgatory, then, I expect Him to show up to clean up the mistake of letting it out. I actually think dean summed Castiel up well in 6x20 in their

discussion where he told Cas he was like a child, that just because he

now understood the concept of freedom and making your own choices,
