@ILIYYILI The Bible is not full of fictional characters. If you would do some research you would find that there are mountains of evidence that point to the history of Israel. If Israel is a fictional character of the Bible then what of the Modern Day Israel? Are they fictional too? What about Egypt? I think that is what I like least about Atheists that they skew the evidence and never mention what is real and what is right but are too busy picking out things that, in their opinion, don't fit into their reality and leave the impression that the whole is not true. I do because I know God & he has substantiated it. I think people who say, "It's never happened to me, so it doesn't exist," are quite interesting. A prophet doesn't "make" prophecies. Prophecies are given to the prophet from God. Why would a prophet bother to prophesy something that already happened and then the ones he prophesied to use false prophets denying that the event will happen and then it does?

Well, I don't believe in God, but let's say he spoke to me and told me to tell you to give me everything you own. You have no way of proving me correct or false if you believe in God. The other faction which included the tribe of Judah had not been taken in to captivity but was following in her sister's footsteps and God chose prophets from the captives of Israel to warn the Kings and priests of Judah and Benjamin and Joseph of the Babylonian take over.
The prophecies were writen (togeder with the rest of the book) AFTER the event has happned, and it was writen as if there was some prophet that knew that something would happen...

No one goes out of their way to write something for make believe purposes without having an agenda first and as far as I can tell, from What God has shown me and told me 7th day Sabbath is something he wants and he has been extremely merciful to me. He has also shown me miracles you could not comprehend if you saw and I do have witnesses.
Religion is a great way of controlling people, just think about it, if you are a simple person that gains followers, you gain rank and status, you gain money and power.
If you are a leader of some kingdom, you'll gain the ability to easily control your people, make them not murder each other, not steal, make it easier for you to rull.

And as far as I see the majority of the world hates God. How did you derive at the idea that prophecy was written after it happened?

1 If God is omnipotent and knows everything past, present, and future then we cannot possibly have free will because there is no room for randomness from people making choices
2 If you believe in Christianity, how in the world is it a choice to choose between heaven and hell? Even with a rational mind, if you believe in heaven and hell it really the choice has been made

@ortafunk Jesus never existed, there is no historial evidence of his existence, but whoever wrote his lines, the adam and eve myth was about that knowledge was forbidden , this is a common theme in many religions, why do centuries, into the dark ages, they were killing and torturing anyone who dared to challenge the bible. Even today Baptist christians attack evolution and science, and claim that the earth is less then 10,000 years old, man came from adam and eve, and other lies.

@PeaceMaker137 the thing is that its not "us" who have to disprove. There are many various theories floating around scientific world, that are not supported but are being researched. Some seem more plausible then others. The difference is that people are making sure that those theories are based on evidence. While religious claims are based on faith and personal experiences. Religion is not so special as to not fall under same standards of evidence as the rest of the world.

@Zayleylee Hell is the eternal destiny of people who reject the one and only way to not go there. There will not, however be any athiests there. They'll all be believers at that point. God's not harsh or unfair. He's simply specific. If you knocked on a rich man's door and upon it's opening informed him you were moving in with him because you were a "good person", he would likely respond by slamming it in your face and stating that he didn't know you. If Israel is a fictional character of the Bible then what of the Modern Day Israel? Are they fictional too? What about Egypt? A prophet doesn't "make" prophecies. Prophecies are given to the prophet from God. Why would a prophet bother to prophesy something that already happened and then the ones he prophesied to use false prophets denying that the event will happen and then it does?

Well, I don't believe in God, but let's say he spoke to me and told me to tell you to give me everything you own. You have no way of proving me correct or false if you believe in God. If you are an atheist, you can avoid that decision by knowing that God is fake in the first place.

No, since there is no evidence that unicorns do exist. You cannot just choose to stop believing in gravity or start believing in unicorns if you want to. 1 If God is omnipotent and knows everything past, present, and future then we cannot possibly have free will because there is no room for randomness from people making choices
2 If you believe in Christianity, how in the world is it a choice to choose between heaven and hell? Even with a rational mind, if you believe in heaven and hell it really the choice has been made

The devil is not real, and does not exist, except in the minds of superstitious people, the devil is an ancient medieval myth from the dark ages, there is no room for such absurdities in the 21st century, when science has debunked all other medieval myths.

Imagine a Tarzan type situation, a baby born into a jungle raised without EVER having human contact,the child grows, does this child automatically become Christian , Jewish , Muslim etc.? Which one does it become. Again i ask you to try to remember why are you Christian?

@Traxx01 Exactly , it is down to geographical location, so the question goes out to theists ....... which religion is correct? or are they all just made up?
Basically all religions are false, they stem from primitive (hu)mankind looking up at the stars and wondering why they exist, they filled in the gaps by worshiping the sun and the moon and stars and now thousands of years later we have Christianity and Islam etc etc.
Religion is 'Chinese whispers' IMO of course, no offence intended.

@LogicalStatements1 you do prove a point here Muslims believe In tradition Not God. tradition prevents People from receiving miracles from God. My parents were southern Baptist at age 7 I was asked do You Believe In Jesus & I said yeah the next thing I knew I was being Baptised & I was happy to go along with It because It was suppose to be a good thing but If I was asked Who Is Jesus I might have said I don't know. But The Jesus of The Bible truly Is A Genius greater than any Hollywood writer

@LogicalStatements1 it's even funnier still because "Jesus" didn't write ANY of the bible. His "disciples" did, they claimed to be writing it on his behalf, retelling his stories & what he had said. No-one mentions either, the fact it has been translated from so many different languages over the yrs that it's true meaning has been lost completely. Oh & when the Roman's translated it, they deliberately misinterpreted, changing it so Jesus appeared 'divine' coz no one would follow a simple man!

Allah IS god for their special blend of religion....Their god is as true to them as yours is to you...

I did Not Learn that Jesus Is A Genius from the southern Baptist because southern Baptist as most Churches do Not Read very well. Jesus did Not say to Believe In Him because He Is The Son of God, Jesus said Believe My Words, but some He said If You do Not Believe My Words then at least Believe Me for the miracles that I do. which Is a sorry excuse for Believing.

@ortafunk best thing about atheism is that is no God, so therefore, no 'Evil King' a.k.a the devil either. There's no heaven so there's no fear of hell. We don't pick and chose what to believe, which part of some book that man wrote we choose to follow..it's just all non-existent. It is VERY freeing. I say this as a someone who was a born again Christian. I've been on both sides, so have seen it from all angles and made a rational, logical decision for myself.

@oleh2007 Atheism is the default position, everybody is born an atheist, your upbringing defines your religion.It didn't make me a better nor a worse person to stop believing. I try to be good for goodness sake and not for the fear of eternal damnation if i'm not.
It made me free of the fear that was pumped into me every week if i didn't worship this particular god.
Every belief claims to be the one!! i just believe in one less then the proselytizer knocking at my door....

The problem with your justification is that faith in something, does not make it real or true. Just like you have faith in Jesus, someone else in the world has faith in Allah. @PeaceMaker137 the thing is that its not "us" who have to disprove. There are many various theories floating around scientific world, that are not supported but are being researched. Some seem more plausible then others. The difference is that people are making sure that those theories are based on evidence. While religious claims are based on faith and personal experiences. Religion is not so special as to not fall under same standards of evidence as the rest of the world.

@Zayleylee Hell is the eternal destiny of people who reject the one and only way to not go there. There will not, however be any athiests there. They'll all be believers at that point. God's not harsh or unfair. He's simply specific. If you knocked on a rich man's door and upon it's opening informed him you were moving in with him because you were a "good person", he would likely respond by slamming it in your face and stating that he didn't know you. Christ is the only way to the Father.
