The female reporter said Obama was allowed to visit troops when he had his congressional aides with him, but was not allowed when he was staffed by his campaign aides. If I were recovering from an injury received while serving my country I would be incredibly offended if he tried to use me as a campaign prop.

Obama also quietly visited troops in the US. It's bad enough the Republican'ts are sending our brave troops to the middle of a war that we don't belong in.If they really cared about our troops, the VA wouldn't be a joke, and the new GI Bill would have been passed ages ago. I used to think of MacCain is such a nice honoring man, but in the past months or so, he has been saying things that so unkind and no respect toward Obama, now I have no respect for him. Scarborough was so anxious to pin on Obama failure to visit the sick and injured troops in Germany. Look at his disappointment. The Republicans are beside themselves with the success of Obama's trip that they are willing to stoop to any level to torpedo him. Ironic, since McCain chided Obama for not visiting the Middle East. Obama makes the trip and McSame and the Republicans still slam him.

By law, the military can't assist a political campaign. But that cuts both ways here. The military is saying Obama is campaigning here & not just doing his senatorial duties, YET if they squashed this hospital visit at the behest of McCain's crew, then the military is breaking the law assisting his campaign. It's a fine line for sure. Frankly, I find it suspicious that a senator would be barred from visiting wounded soldiers.

In addition, McCain operatives & FOX News are already spinning this as Obama "snubbing the troops", disregarding the fact that the military denied him his senatorial privilege. This confluence of events seems less like the "normal political paranoia of the season" & more like a political hit job, the GOP frantically trying to rain on Obama's otherwise successful world parade.
