The fish are even bigger outside of great kills harbor. we usually only fish there when the weather is gail. Nice bunker rig.

@playtimesovercharter Agreed, There are times though, when most boats are catching nothing when we can save the day in that Harbor. During pre-spawn, some bigger females get detoured into the harbor while following the channel current. They stay there because of the mass amounts of bait. Some of the biggest fish I have ever caught have come in shallow back water areas where the pigs are looking to spawn. water temp is everything!

How did you fish the bunker? When you used live bunker, did you use a sinker with it to bring it down to the bottom? or did you just cast the live bunker out and let it swim around on the surface? I am begining to start bait fishing so if you can, respond back because i can use any help/tips that i can get. .. Thanks And GREATT Vid!!

You are pretty much right on every count. We do a little of everything. When anchored up, we throw out 4 rods with a half of a bunker on it (no weight). Usually 1 or 2 with live Bunker with 2 6/0 hooks, and no weight. Without a weight you will catch a lot of blues, so when the Blues school up around, add a 4oz weight to a live one to get under the blues.Big Stripers are sometimes under the Blues, picking up peices.----Mike
