  • Great lesson.

  • Great lesson man.... nice Taylor too.

  • You are my hero. I'm in a DMB cover band and you have literally saved me hours. Keep it up bro I appreciate it.

  • You know how to teach Dave Matthews' guitar work very well and make it easy. Your Idea of You lesson is great!

I see that you said theres room for error & its your interpretation, but i just thought id add what ive seen on tabs as well as live videos:

It is in drop d, however he merely mutes the low D for the first two opening chords.

In the Dave & Friends version you can see how he plays it on the 6 string. But i never played it with the F#, and its sounds cool indeed.

    Love the work dude.

  • thanks!!!

  • thanks very much for this you are a great teacher. Keep soing what youre doing

  • no one said only 3 times... bbr89 said it was tried on 3 albums...

  • get in line was played way more than 3 times. At least 25.

  • great job! play you never know!! it's never been done acoustic or w/ a cover on youtube!

  • not on youtube but it has been done.

  • Another couple of oldies by DMB that you could do videos on are "Once on a Wild Afternoon" and "Blue Water Baboon Farm."

what was the hardest DM song that you learned? some of his riffs are hard to get down. it's a shame that he doesn't get more recognition as a guitarist. he has a really unique style.

  • You're officially the best guitar instructor on Youtube. And if you havent't picked your next song yet, maybe you could take a look at and old favorite of mine, Get In Line. if you want to stick with the old obscure stuff.

  • WOW thank you very much. If you can get me a recording of it I'm sure I can tab it out pretty quick.

  • get in line was played maybe 3 times. it is reallllly hard to find. Dave was once quoted that he hated the song.

  • Dave doesn't hate Get In Line, you're thinking of Spotlight. And it's not really hard to find, I have at least 4 versions including the 1st time it was Soundchecked. They tried Get In Line in 3 studio sessions (Crash, BTCS, and the Lillywhite Sessions). In 2004 Dave said in a Rolling Stone article that he stills play Get In Line as a warmup.

  • dmbtabs brotha....everything is tabbed out completely for every song Dave has ever played in concert.
