  • hello, could you tell me how many people in all participate in your experiment ?

Did any of the documents reach you finally?

Could you offer me some information for those completed chain concerning:

    1 where did it start?

2 how many people did it take before it completed?

May be just give me some extreme examples there are many.

Thank you very much for your time.

  • I'm afraid this wasn't a success. I know about 3 or 4 people who definitely participated. None of the documents have reached me .... yet.

  • OK. Thanks.

  • It's a pity, but I'm considering re-launching this in a format that makes it less likely for someone to drop out of the chain. This one depended too much on people actively finding someone they could trust to carry on with this.

  • Perhaps I will send one if some of my friends are heading in that direction.

  • The thing is not to try and rush it. Do you know anyone who does sometimes go to Ireland, well, you can give it to them now. If you don't, think of someone who you think might know somebody who does ... etc. If none of the above, well, Holland and England are closer to Ireland, so maybe if you knew someone (who knew someone) who goes THERE instead?

The idea is to give it to someone you think *might* be closer to me in the chain, and let it go from there.

Not that I have received any yet.

  • fate or coincidence?, science or faith? either way i am sure we are all connected, i am not taking part in this test as i am quite convinced in this theory as too many weird circumstances have happened to me reguarding the small world.

good luck i finding the truth

  • er... No, it's nothing mysterious. Just plain old networking and long distance links.

  • I found out that I am only two degrees separated from Osama bin Laden (I know someone who once met him). Kind of unnerving when I think about it.

  • Indeed!

  • That is an interesting challenge, i might just take it up.

One question, can i send more than one, say 3 to 3 different people?

  • Absolutely! The more the merrier.

  • I should have said Great Britain :/

  • Huh?

  • My previous post must have been rejected. I was saying I'm going to England this summer. I was thinking of getting to meet someone I know at the same time giving it to her, but what if I met you personally by accident. Would I have to get to know you first or just give the paper to you although you are a stranger? :D

  • No, you could hand it straight to me, but it sort of defeats the purpose is you make a point of travelling here to hand it to me :-)

And sorry - I never noticed your reply there.

  • Yeah, but it would be a freak accident if i just run into you, anyways. No papers yet I suppose?

  • Nothing so far

  • i WILL DO THIS! but im gonna nap first. be back in a few hours

  • Thanks!

  • i don't no anyone going to Ireland, but maybe someone along the line will.

  • Exactly! That is the way it works. You don't need to know anybody at all who goes to Ireland. If you do, of course that's great. But if you don't, who do you know who might know someone? And if you know none of those, perhaps you know somebody in a big city who might know someone who knows someone who goes to the airport regularly? Or ... or ... the possibilities are endless.

  • Wowhee! Sounds like fun =) I will participate and are already wringing my brain for a good next link. Great idea.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks! Looking forward to that.

  • OK - I posted a pdf document of the above document at your carobit site :)

  • You're a star!

  • That was the problem!!! I tried to post a link to the carobit site - my bad!!!

  • aha. It's in the video description top right

  • SA! Sometimes all of my characters just sit in this text box and it won't post. Testing...

  • Be careful with your punctuation. Especially a period with no space behind it can be tricky, YouTube thinks it's a URL and won't allow it.

  • Please folks don't flag thedynamitekidd's comments as SPAM; he's doing me a favour. I can post replies to comments again now but I genuinely could not for a while as I was on the road and using my mobile which was a nightmare.

  • they were flagged?lol no problem, ye can delete them now to clean up your comments if you want pino.

  • I can't post comments here!

  • LOL - and what's this then?

  • I don't think it will work. I believe it could be done mathematically, if we knew who knew who, but without that info, how do we find the right friends who know the right friends who know the right friends? It doesn't seem possible to me. But I'll check out the form.

  • Let me clarify. Of course it's possible, and even possible to do in 6 steps, but 6 steps is EXTREMELY unlikely without a computer or something doing some of the work.

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (sorry, just relaying the message)

  • Indeed, I think 6 steps is unlikely without using post. But I think the 45 steps catered for in the actual document are a gross exaggeration. I would be surprised if it went much beyond 10.

  • We'll see. My guess is that people will give up before anything gets to you.

  • Well, we won't know if we don't try it, eh? I hope you will join the challenge.

  • Would somebody do me a favour and reply to comments already made here to alert the poster to the clarification I posted on Carobit? Thanks. Pino

  • I cannot respond to comments from my mobile. It's very frustrating. I want to respond to a number of remarks here. I posted a thread on Carobit about it under the topic YouTube Discussions. Please read this too. Thanks. Pino

  • :-( Can't open .doc format on my computer...

  • rozeboosje,

you should try opened formats for documents. I'm a Linux guy, but I can open MS-Windows documents with Open Office, but some people just give up if they can't open at the first time in their platforms. Try a PDF ("Portable Document Format").

  • ... asked anyone with the technology to convert the form and attach it as a PDF to the discussion thread in the new link in the video description.

  • If you check the new link I just put in the video description where I posted a link to an RTF version of same. I've also ....

  • thank you :-)

  • Thank you to ciggyfree. She's a star!

  • What happens if I break the chain? Will I be killed horribly by an invisible force?

  • yes lol

  • I'll hold my breath until my head explodes :P

  • How do you expect someone to go hand-to-hand when most of us won't travel to Ireland? So then, we must find a connection that will fly to Ireland? This is silly.

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (sorry, just relaying the message)

  • No, NevermindTheCoals, you're under no obligation to find someone. But I'm about to post another video in which I hope to explain the idea a little better than I did here. See also the link in the video description.

  • i dont knwo anyone who leaves the country.. so it woudl be pointless for me to try

  • Do you know somebody who knows somebody who leaves the country?

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (sorry, just relaying the message)

  • Exactly. Or someone who knows someone who knows someone? Or even just MIGHT know someone?....

Are you going to give it a go, websnarf?

  • On the contrary, it would make you the ideal starting point for this exercise, Roy!

  • pretty damn cool.!!

  • um--tap tap tap--you are wearing clothes.

  • Just watch the next video and weep!

Will you be trying this, by the way? Like I'll explain in that next video, you don't need to show your face alongside the form.

  • not sure-I'm rather isolated-

  • Which makes you a perfect candidate! You may not be in contact with many people, but there will be a few. Which one of those do you think is most likely to get that letter even a little bit closer to me in "the web"? That's the person you should hand it to.

  • It's too bad that you won't allow us to mail it. I would have mailed it to you directly just to be a smart ass. :-)

  • lol

  • haha!

  • I don't know how accurate this theory is, since I don't happen to know 1.1 billion people.

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (just relaying the message)

  • Thanks for your help! Am home now and can post freely again. Phew.

  • .....No can do...Dont want my Mug on the internet...Funny me mum was just in Ireland 6months ago...may have given some help then...oh well...I have seen this sort of thing done before...its uncanny...actually true many times...LUCK!!!

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (sorry, just relaying the message)

  • Please check out the link and the explanation video I'll be uploading in the next half hour. I don't need you to post your face. It would be great if you could participate.

  • Wow I like this idea! For some reason that idea unsettles me a little haha.

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (sorry, just relaying the message)

  • Wie zijn u? Antwoordt u voor hem? U hebt geen video's =|

  • just one of his subs.read the comments he left below

  • Thanks! It was a great help. Sorry your comments got flagged as SPAM; I've unflagged them again.

  • Please don't let it stop you. Like I said I don't want you to include any personal information, and you can just state your name as "kunstinflammen" or whatnot; it doesn't have to be your real name.

  • You do like chains, don't you?

  • Very much! Are you going to participate, Javier? BTW - I'm going to post a further explanation in the next half hour, and please check the new link in the video description.

  • Very interesting. I won't be participating, but I am very curious as to how accurate the 6 degrees of seperation estimate actually is.

  • Why not, Atheistblindchick? All it takes is printing off the form and handing it to someone. The rest just happens. I'll be posting a clarification in the next few minutes, by the way.

  • I'll give it a go.

  • Cool! Looking forward to that, Jim!

  • Can I just search your address and send it to you or does it have to be hand-delivered from someone that you know personally?

  • DO NOT USE POST

    lol

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (just relaying the message)

  • Ah, I hope this'll work out well, sounds like a rather fun experiment.

  • Yeah. Will you join in?

  • Pino (rozeboosje) is having problems replying but asks everyone to read a more detailed post thread on Carobit about this topic under "YouTube Discussions".

    (sorry, just relaying the message)

  • Haha, really intresting test!!

You have the craziest ideas rozeboosje!!

    =o)

  • Well, this is not an original idea, although I don't know whether anyone has done this through YouTube yet and/or in the format I'm proposing here.

  • Yeah - search for "small world experiment" on Wikipedia. The original idea was by Stanley Milgram, and the concept of "six degrees of separation" was the result of the outcome of his original experiment.

  • Tempted to call up to your house on Saturday with a copy but that would be cheating.

Interesting idea and would be amazing if an international letter got through.

  • LOL. Yeah. Sorry, you can't participate. Unless you're planning to go abroad and you hand it over to someone there. That would be ok.

  • I reckon that if a letter makes it to Ireland then you are sorted. I suspect that any of your international fans that know anyone going to Ireland will start a successful letter. It may be that the challenge is too easy in that regard?

  • Maybe, I would hope that once it gets here it wouldn't take more than two or three steps after that.
