I really enjoy old & new Nightwish. There had to be a change, and here is it - and with it Nightwish, better than ever again. Just my opinion, so don´t flame me for it or fight about it.

You have it backwards. NW has gone down the toilet and sound like a bad garage band these days, whereas Tarja has released quite a few good songs and is doing her own videos. She's improving as a solo artist, while NW is stuck with old overly produced videos such as Amaranth and Bye Bye Beautiful ( a cheap shot at Tarja, which she rightfully responded to with her song "Enough").

They will never go far with Anette, they'd be better off with NO female singer than her.

It's important to note a few things. End of an Era was a DVD recording that was edited. Listen to other live songs and compare them to the End Of An Era show and you can see the difference. They can edit out any problems.

NO song Anette has ever sang for NW was written with her strengths and weaknesses in mind. She's singing songs written for a classical soprano so obv. it's not going to sound the same and obv. she won't be able to sing the song as written.

The audio is taken from the sound board, along with some audience microphones, then mixed in with the various video camera inputs in order to create a finished product. However, the audio is not "edited" in that it is the actual live performance, not some redone work. When people think of editing, they see it as a way of changing how the concert actually sounded. That is not how live concert DVDs are produced, the audio is simply that of the performance straight off the sound board.

Well I sing, play keyboards and the bass guitar. I like Nightwish because musically they are great. I'm usually very picky on singers, but I like Anette because musically she is very good. She's got a good range, her pitch is good and her breathing is great. Tarja was alright but her pitch wasn't that great and her excessive vibrato was annoying. But this is my opinion through my experience. I am not an Anette fan commenting on every single Tarja video out there. But you are vise versa.

You have GOT to be kidding me. Anette is ALL OVER THE PLACE in terms of pitch, where in virtually every song she hits at least a few sour notes. She can't sing the songs as written as her voice isn't skilled enough to hit those notes, so oftentimes the notes go silent in the song because she just can't hit them.

She sounds as if she's forcing herself to sing oftentimes, and her voice seems strained. It certainly isn't an angelic voice, it's more of a karaoke style voice.

Yeah, she almost always sounds way better live than on the album. See End of an Era for an example. Funny, it was at the same location as this, Hartwell Arena. What a HUGE and PROFOUND difference between this recent performance and that one from 2005...

End of an Era is probably THE best performance I've EVER seen, and I've seen MANY world famous bands, ranging from Black Sabbath, Aeromith, Ted Nugent, Pink Floyd, U2, to bands like the Scorpions, Judas Priest, Queensryche, and Motley Crue.
