  • Nice video man. One thing - I travel every year to Germany with Swiss Air but I dont know how to get miles for it, can you help me? thanks

  • @XDswizzyXD Yes, join the Miles & More frequent flyer program.

  • anyone knows how to get miles?

  • @wisnu1231 You can either fly a lot or use your credit card.

  • Hi again great video. I'm only 13 and my parents my bro and I have lots of miles on delta and we don't know where to go and also we would fly out of Minneapolis.

  • @MagicWarrior100 Thanks for your comment! I hope you have a fun trip!

  • did you buy a rolex when you got there?

  • @MrStefanbergmann Lol! No way, it's too expensive! Even if I made enough money to afford it, I would never spend that much money on a watch!

  • @sfflyer123 Haha :D

  • Great trip report--thank you for posting! I would love to fly long-haul first or business some day.

  • @smitty195 Thank you very much! Yes, the key is to save your miles and redeem for business or first!

  • This video is popular on Cape Verde

  • @alenblake38g thank you for your comment.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experience. My husband and I are booked on Swiss (business) to and from Africa in May we are flying A340 from Johannesburg to Zurich and can't wait for the experience.

  • @Allistongreenman Thank you for your kind words. I hope you two have a great flight! that sounds like a very very long haul!

  • Just made ressies for the end of this month for a RT from SFO to CDG. Checked out Swiss through ZRH, but ended up on United via FRA. I like the look of the Swiss product, but couldn't secure a biz class seat. Thanks for the video.

  • @thumbun I hope you have a great flight. Will go you for vacation or for work?

  • @sfflyer123 Thanks -- going for work, which means a paid biz class ticket and 150% EQMs + 2.5 hours of plane spotting at FRA.

  • @thumbun That is excellent. I agree, those 150EQMs are nice. Have a great trip!

  • Another good one. Food looked average at best... Decor was excellent...

  • @radbcc Thanks very much. I would agree with you that the food was good, but not great. Thanks for your comment!

  • i thought that only the two inner engines deploy reverse thrust?

  • @TheNjDevils4Life I did not know. I assumed it was all 4, but I am not sure.

  • @sfflyer123 All 4 will deploy. Can be seen from your video.

  • @SIA5390 Excellent!

  • very funyy when you coment on the video GO PLANE GO !

  • @The2jesue Thank you very much!

  • 7:59 : It's bad that the railway system isn't so good all over Europe... in Poland it's a nightmare. Great video, as usual!

  • @kefir212 I did not know that the Rail system as not so good in Poland. Like the USA, maybe? thanks for the comment!

  • please take me on one of these trips

  • @PerfectEggRoll Maybe one day if I win the lottery!

  • Interesting cabin configuration...I guess you got one of the better seats, since you got 2 big armrests. By choice or by luck?

  • @brinpol No, I purposefully picked that seat becuase I knew it had extra room!

  • Hey! I love your videos! Keep them up!

A couple of questions: A). Which consulting firm do you work for, if you don't mind me asking. Bain and company?

B). Do you get to keep any of the noise-cancelling headphones after you leave? I think it's United or American that they give out Bose QC3s....what about the Swiss flight you had, did you get to keep the headphones?

    Thanks so much!

  • @Flyer4EVER7 Thank you for your nice comment. For questions about my work, please see my youtube home page. I just use my own headphones. Thanks for the comment!

  • Great video. Just what I was looking for as I have an upcoming flight on Swiss in 4A but on the A333. I normally fly BA,AC or LH in biz class but that seat looks like it even beats BA first.. The seat when folded out to the flat bed looks very close to the floor, how does it feel being so low?

  • @martin56ca Thanks for your comment! The seat is not any closer than most lie-flats, actually, even though it looks very close to the floor. It's very comfortable, much better than UA's or LH's C definitely. Thanks!

  • always wondered if the airlines you flew on ever contacted you to discuss your evaluation of the food..good, bad or otherwise?....your videos are quite informative and on the spot accurate and you have a fantastic following....it would make sense that they contacted you.....

  • @odugraddude Not yet, though it's a good quetsion. It's best to stay impartial; otherwise, I'll sound like a commercial! Thanks.

  • Swiss is different than Swissair right?

  • How did you like "Dinner For Schmucks?"!!!

  • @mjk0123456789 It was pretty funny. Not super great, but pretty funny. Good pick up!

  • Sfflyer 123, this was really good, thank you. That 340-300 does a nice job, if you want the bigger engines, fly the 340-500 and 340-600 longer range. It was great seeing you off 28L as to your favorite 01R.

Anyway, you did a nice job, again, your videos are really nice, thanks so much.

Zurich looks like fun, any good electronics shopping over there?

  • @DansJets Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I agree, the a340-600 has much bigger engines. As one person put it with the A340-330, he called the engines "hairdryers"! Hilarious. I did not do any electtronics shopping in Zurich while i was there, unfortunately. Thank you for your comment.

  • I could live on Swiss cheese :) Another great vid!

  • @dirac33 Thanks very much! Yes, swiss cheese is great, isn't it?

  • Does Anyone KNOW the music ( in flight ) of swiss air?

    thanks!

  • @tsimpoukopios I didn't know Swiss has a specific jingle. I certainly don't know it if they do!

  • you what, your video not only made me feel your experience but made me smile great camera shots and timing :) best ever!

  • @production02line Thank you so much! You are too kind!

  • Were you watching "Dinner For Schmucks"? I saw it and it was hilarious!

  • @mjk0123456789 Yes, I was! Good pickup! I agree, it was a fun movie. Thanks.

  • Do you know if swiss will have the new first on its a340's next year by any chance.

  • @coolguywithshades34 I do not unfortunately. I know the A330's are getting it, but I am not sure about the a340s. If you go to flyertalk, you should be able to find the information out there. Thanks.

  • Fantastick movie! :)

I flew QANTAS business on the A380 back in 2009.

Sigh, It will never be the same on economy once you can lie down on a nice 180* bed and sleep on business ;)

  • @PhilipDK5800 Thank you for your nice comment. Yes, it's always tough to be in economy when you've flown on business isn't it? Thanks for your nice comment.

  • @sfflyer123 Yes it is. On a longhaul economy flight, you can't wait to get off after a few hours. But in business it's just "aaaahhh." Because if you are tired you can just lay down and sleep, not like economy where you are prepared to KILL to get a middlerow of 4 seats for your self!

  • @PhilipDK5800 I agree. In a nice business class, sometimes I think, "gee that fligth was too short!"

  • omg, swiss has the own sf livery!

  • @TheHitesh2000 Yes, pretty cool, isn't it?

  • this time is november or december or january ou february ???

  • @neryflavio This is december.

  • @sfflyer123 the a343 has always been under powered to me. but also it has proven that it is a very reliable plane! i would be in it anytime no doubt! and may i ask what camera are u using? :)

  • those seats look quiet narrow....the side desk are large...they should have made wider seat buy cutting little bit into side desks

  • @jainamshah007 the seats look narrow relative to the desks. however, they are very comfy, and they feel very spacious because the desks are so big!

  • U should tottaly make an emirates business class or firsf vid

  • @coolguywithshades34 Thanks. I think the great Homer has that one cornered, however! His videos are fantastic and cover Emirates very well. Also, I don't know when I will ever need to fly Emirates, since I don't fly to the mid -east. However, if I do fly Emirates, I will definitely make a TR! Thanks for your comment.

  • Im like ur biggest fan of ur vids. They r awesome. Check out mu ua first class vid. I will be flying swiss first on a340 next year

  • @coolguywithshades34 Thank you very much! I am looking forward to your TR on swiss when you go!

  • @sfflyer123 well they started a380 service on emirates but then discontinued because it's too long of a flight

  • @TheBadkid1001 Interesting. I never knew this. I always have only seen the 777.

  • @sfflyer123 I've seen the a380 emirates on that train

  • @TheBadkid1001 I thought the Emirates in SFO is only a B777.

  • Since you've been to SFO more than me, have you been on that airtrain. I have

  • @TheBadkid1001 Yes, I have been on the air train. It's great because you get great views of the jumbo jets over the international terminal!

  • Your lucky how you get first or buisness class. I have never really been on something like that. I flew some thing on southwest to LAX and it wasn't that great. You just got a free bloody mary. Swiss looks awesome.

  • @TheBadkid1001 Thank you. Yes, I realize I am very lucky. It's only after my job started flying me around did I ever fly this way. Otherwise, it was 100% economy all the way!

  • Sfflyer123 I love to comment on your videos. They are great. I live in the bay area too! The last time I was at SFO was to JFK on Jetblue. Both NYC and San Fran are great cities.

  • @TheBadkid1001 Thank you very much. Yes, I agree. NYC and SFO are my two favorite cities. I think SFO has much of the good (not all of course) of NYC with much less of the bad. NYC is a great place to live for a few years, but I wouldn't want to live there permanently.

  • The Airbus A340-300s climb slower and fly slower than the big Boeing jets. Airbus solved these problems when they rolled out their A340-500s and A340-600s with more powerful engines.

I understand that the upcoming A350s also have powerful but more fuel efficient engines.

Please keep those great videos coming. You are making a lot of people, especially planes nuts like me, very happy. Thank you again.

  • @ugotmalenurse This is great information. I sort of suspected that, but I never knew that. I always felt that the Boeings were so powerful, but I never confirmed that. Good to know. Thank you for your kind words!

  • I agree with you, the Airbus A340-300s are quite underpowered. In fact on a trans-Pacific flight you would arrive an hour earlier if you flew on a B747 or B777. But if I were in business class I wouldn't mind spending an extra hour in the premium cabin!

I live very near the coast past Seton Hospital which is visible from the right side of the airplane when it is flying towards the West. I get very excited when I see my own neighborhood from the airplane!

    Thanks for the great videos!

  • @ugotmalenurse Interesting facts. I never knew that the A340-300's are that much slower! I know that the B747 is the fastest plane in the skies right now, but I didn't realize that much faster. I know exactly where Seton Hospital is. It's right in Daly City. It's a nice area. Thanks for the comment!

  • Looks great! I would have to say that the best 4 flights I ever had were on the original Swissair in business class. Back then it was a 747 ORD-ZRH and I was in the upper deck. The service was phenomenal, even on the short flight between ZRH-BUD. What is it about European airlines? They just have service down to a science, U.S. airlines, even in a premium cabin usually don't compare.

  • @pankra001 Yes, I agree with you. The american flight experience just isn't what it used to be. Not sure why, when America is the richest country in the world. Thank you for the nice comment. The old Swissair must have been a great experience!

  • I feel bad for people sitting in a window seat every other row (the ones where there are 2 seats on window side), imagine getting out of a window seat when the aisle seat is fully reclined with person in there sleeping and you have to go to the bathroom ASAP lol

  • @sviridovt Yes, it can be tough getting out if you're in the window. But it's like that with United also in busienss class. It's still better than economy! Thanks for the comment.

  • Comment removed

  • @duncan7599 Thank you for the comment!

  • Well done! The first class of Swiss is absolutky crazyy!!! I couldnt agree more with you.

  • @TheLeeqeend Thank you very much!

  • quiet nice for business class...does it have first class

  • @jainamshah007 Yes, it has a first class. It is even nicer!

  • This is wonderfull. I am fasinated in anything to do with Civil Aviation. I am very interested in the levels of service on the different airlines you fly with. I am a UK based flight attendant, I love to fly and travel, and your videos are giving me the opportunity to have a insight into these wonderfull airlines Business and First Class products.

  • @scouseflyer Thank you very much. I also have a great interest in aviation. It is always such an amazing thing, flying from one place to another, especially when going to a differen continent. Thank you for your kind words.

  • How do you get first class all the time??

  • @geegang upgrade with miles!

  • I think it would be so cool to just fly around in planes for a whole yr and never come down..just go from one plane to the next and fly around the entire world

  • @Midnightryder7 Yes, that would be pretty cool, eh? Just have a re-fueling plane.

  • are you ever going to be on board an airbus a380,im telling you the first class and economy is very nice.

  • @MrRayRay922 I would like to, and I have international trips to Europe in the winter. However, they don't fly the A380 in the winter to SFO or JFK, unfortunately. Only B747.

  • @sfflyer123 lufhansa uses A380 to SFO if i'm not wrong..........

  • @wisnu1231 Yes, but only in the summer time. In the winter, it goes back to B747.

  • @sfflyer123 but next year you'll be onboard the brand new 747-8i.................

  • Thanks, and thank you so much for your videos. It's so nice to see closer different airline meals and so on..

  • @Havasification Thank you. I hope you have a nice trip!

  • I am planning a trip to San Francisco via Zürich by Swiss International. :) Is it good idea to buy ticket to business class? What do you think about business class seats? It's hard to get sleep in economy class.. :( What about in business class? :D

  • @Havasification If you can afford it, then do it. I personally cannot afford it since it is so expensive, but my company pays for me. If you have to pay out of pocket, it depends on your finances. It is very expensive compared to economy, but of course, it is much nicer.

  • AWESOME VIDEO ! TKS..

  • @karinebirigui Thank you very much!

  • i like the sound of the engine...............

  • @wisnu1231 Thank you!

  • @sfflyer123 and your videos ............

  • @wisnu1231 Thank you!

  • Thank you for your video. You are very knowledgeable about your engines, very funny on the part when you urge the plane to go up! Seems like 777 has or the new A350 will have the most powerful engines (2 instead of 4) or do the engines on A380 pack a stronger punch? I like your filming of the meal times, always makes me hungry just like watching videos from Homer 3152. Shots of the interior are also very nice, so are your written commentary. Again, thank you so much.

    A fan from Hong Kong.

  • @hoho657chan Thank you very much, hoho. That is a very nice comment. I am not sure whether the A350 will have a stronger engine or not. Seems like so many of the engine makers are the same these days, so I bet it will be comparable. thank you very much for the nice comment!

  • @hoho657chan i agree i love your videos i feel like going again to the a340 again im a big fan of airbus i cant wait until the a350 i heard tht its going to have stronger engines but anyway your making me hungry when you taped the breakfast lol, anyways nice video hope you do more

  • I've always wanted to go on first or business class, but I always have to live with Economy to Frankfurt. I'm only 15 so I'm guessing I still have a chance :)

  • @polskarocks12 Yes, one day, I hope you will get to try it!

  • Very nice trip report! I'd love to make first & business class reports instead of Economy but never had the chance. :)

  • @GermanSpottingHD Thank you for your nice words. Hopefully one day you will! Thanks.

  • Thx sfflyer123 for your excellent videos! It seems you take time to produce them and the quality shows itself. I can say I really take my time to enjoy them. And as someone said before, they are very helpfull, as we all like to see beforehand what we buy. I'm happy someone is using YouTube in a clever way! Have safe journeys and always a memorable flight.

  • @MrSwissSteve Thank you so much. That is so kind of you to say. I am glad that the videos were helpful to you. Safe travels to you also. Best regards.

  • @MrSwissSteve I totally agree with you!

  • I live in Cali, but I would take the snow in Zurich anytime.

  • @txkid1 Snow once in a while is okay for me. I just don't want to live in it! I used to live on the East coast, and that was enough for me.

  • many thanks for your revue of this service. we are all able make better choices and avoid expensive mistakes by watching videos like this. there's nothing worse than feeling as if you paid for something you did not like.

  • @mwmoregon003 Thank you for the kind words. I am glad that you found it helpful. I remember trying to select certain airlines and flights when I had options (basically when someone else is paying), and not knowing which was best. But TR's on youtube were quite helpful. I am glad they helped you out, also. Thanks.

  • Sfflyer123 I Have always Enjoyed your Videos, If I could say if your Company does any traveling to Canada or Flying From Canada, Something i would like to see is a Video about the "Air Canada Executive First" I know you may not have a Choice in Airlines But the hole Product is Very Well Done and Air Canada is Listed one of the Most Professional in the World to its Flight Service both Domestic and Around the World!! I look forward to Watch all your videos and I enjoy each and Everyone of them :)

  • @tricon909 Thank you for your kind words! Yes, I have heard that Air Canada is excellent. Unfortunately, I have not flown with them yet, but I hope to one day! I know their business class product is quite excellent. Hopefully, I will one day, however! Thanks for your kind words.

  • @sfflyer123 Hope to see you in the sky's someday !!! Greetings from Newfoundland, Canada = ) and thank you for your FeedBack !!

  • @tricon909 Yes, if you see a guy stealthfully shooting a video of his dessert, that's probably me!!

  • wow, i think that A340-300 is took off with a nearly Maximum Take Off Weight(MTOW)

  • man, you're a rich businessman, you often to abroad

  • @wisnu1231 I wish I were rich, but I am not. My company pays for these flights, so that is why I fly in business class. Otherwise, I could never afford to fly with such expensive airfares. I am a consultant, so when I fly abroad, my company pays for business class. I am not rich, but I wish I were!

  • @sfflyer123 never fly in first class?

  • @wisnu1231 Please see my other trip reports. You will see a Lufthansa First class trip report.

  • @sfflyer123 wich one

  • @wisnu1231 Look for Lufthansa first class under my uploads.

  • wow, can you upload a winter trip vid again(in christmast maybe)? because this is my fav vid, you're went to Zurich in winter.............................cool and cool

  • @wisnu1231 Yes, I definitely will do this again this winter!

  • do u have a facebook account?

  • @TheHitesh2000 Unfortunately not.

  • is buiesness class the same as fiest class?

  • @kenzie0908000 No, business class it not as nice as first class. First class is much, much nicer.

  • Could you see the engines on this flight? Oh yer u can!

  • Could you see the engines on this flight?

  • @williamwilbur Yes, you could see them, but you have to turn your head back!

  • @sfflyer123 Did you really have to really stretch or could you comfortably look back? It's just I've booked front row seats on a embraer 195 to Palma and I want to see the engine!

  • @williamwilbur You actually can see them quite comfortably on an A340 since the wings are so big. But it is probably easier to see the engines if you're closer to the middle.

  • I have seen a few of your videos already. I am curious, what do you do for a living? I want to start flying across the world in first or even business class or even just in economy.

  • @techdron Consulting. Consulting is what allows you to fly all over. I believe if you get into marketing and sales, you will also probably fly around the world.

  • I flew Swiss from YUL-ZRH-BOM and back and I would have to say I had one of the best experiences in economy I have ever had. I had lost hope in air travel returning to how it used to be, and made me hate flying domestic in North America all the more.

  • @brasildude1 Yes, I think the glory days of flying are gone partly because the cost of oil is so high that the airlines can't turn a profit if they give us too many goodies. The other reason is that people fly so often now that it's not an occasional treat anymore. Thanks for the comment.

  • - I love Switzerland <3

    - I love it to Fly <3

    -I LOVE SWISS <3

Its have a Great Business Class

  • @WeSwiss That's for the nice comment! Yes, I agree, Swiss is great!

  • Great video as usual. I used to be a road warrior in the 80's. One of the things that I notice in today's business class travel vis a vis when I traveled often, is the lack of contact between passengers. In effect, the airlines have isolated the business and first class passengers from each other. Part of the fun for me was the interaction with other interesting business people... Just my thoughts...

  • @radbcc I agree with you. I remember that people would routinely have conversations with one another. Now, it seems to be the exception insead. I remember how when you sat next to someone, people would at least look at each other and say, "Hi." Now that's all gone. Thanks for the comment.

  • the engines of the swiss a340 are much smaller than others thats because they couldnt afford bigger ones. talked to a swiss pilot and he said it was complete crap

  • @mrzomg99 That's hilarious! thanks for the comment!

  • i live in oakland

  • @TheHitesh2000 Nice. Do you fly out of SFO or Oakland?

  • @sfflyer123 Both actually, for domestic i fly from oakland, for international, i fly from san francsico. i mostly fly in korean air from san francisco to india. one time i flew in jet airways and it was pretty awesome. i also took air india but it goes to l.a. so i had to go from sfo to lax by ted (united) airlines.

  • @TheHitesh2000 Thanks for the comment. That's great.

  • Haha, A340-300, or the plane known to only be flying because of the earths curvature :>

  • @naisi That's pretty funny, isn't it?

  • GREAT

  • @matthiashaenni Thank you!

  • Amazing video, thank you so much. I lovvve the airplane's livery! Swiss is really a fantastic airline.

  • @100hcap Yes, it certainly has character, doesn't it? Yes, Swiss is very nice. I felt really lucky to be able to fly it in business class. Thank you for the kind words.

  • Fantastic video again and another "like"! You managed to cram so much into one video! Swiss is supposed to have an exceptional product and you have just shown how the Swiss don't compromise on their luxuries! I've never seen a cabin with wood-panels in! And the food looked amazing! Many thanks for sharing.

  • @craiglsimons Thanks for those kind words. Yes, the cabin is pretty luxurious, yet modern, no question. I think they really wanted to make their business class a real premium product. Thanks very much for the comment!
