  • is that a Labraadoodle ? :)) BTW , nice Dobes ;)

  • OMG, this's so nice !!

    I LOVE IT !!!

  • Great dogs the best!!

  • i have a dobie and they just dont look the same without the ears cropped

  • lol, i love the wa ythey say, "Charlie No."

    its so british XDD

  • It's Australian...

  • I really love the wiggly docked tail on a Dobermann.. I cannot stand the look of a Dobermann with a full tail as I think they are the ugliest tail on any dog that I have ever seen..

Here in Australia we are not allowed to crop the ears and soon the damn tree hugging hippies will stop us docking tails.. I really wish they would put there energy into saving animals that are being harmed or the 1000's of dog from puppy mills/pet shops rather that picking on Pedigree well bred Dobes!

  • Im afraid that I disagree, if someone doesnt like the way a dog looks naturally, the dog shouldnt b bought.

I think its very wrong 2 make a dog undergo a procedure just because an owner likes it. Its a cosmetic procedure.

Im glad that it will be banned in Australia.

Yes, animals are being harmed and I agree with u that more should b done 2 stop any cruelty. But, how much better is it to make a dog undergo an operation because the owner prefers the cosmetic look of a chopped off tail.

  • How about you got back to huggin trees and saving whales!

PETA believes that owning an animal is wrong and is a cruelty in itself - what a load of rubbish!

The docking of a tail is not cruelty! The cruelty begins when hippys and bureaucrats stick their noses in when they know nothing about the reasoning behind docking.

The breeds that have historically been docked have been done to protect the dog from damaging the tail.

  • Do u honestly believe that docking the tail of a puppy at 3 days old prior to the nervous system being complete is cruelty?

Have u seen the tails of single coat breeds when they are injured in impact injuries and the pain it can cause a grown/adult dog?

Be honest now, do u think docked tail breeds are worse off than a dog with a whole tail?

If the breeder of a purebred puppy is prepared to pay a vet to dock a tail, & then find good homes for that animal forever, how is that wrong?

  • You tell them PETA hippy freaks!

  • Then why aren't hippy's and do gooders like you against people having plastic surgery as it is a cosmetic procedure?

Perhaps all you goody-2-shoes should start petitioning Hollywood & Michael Jackson to stop cruelty to people..

    Seriously folks get a life!

If you don't like tail docking, don't watch Dobermann videos on YouTube!

Your opinions are not that valid that you need to jump on your damned soap box and preach to those who don't think like you!

  • For gods sake women stop throwing your toys out of the pram!

I only voiced an opinon which happened to be different from yours, if you don't like comments disable them.

I am not a hippy loving whale catcher or what ever you said pmsl!! I am just a vet whom disagrees with your point.

I am not saying it is animal cruelty I am saying I don't believe that an animal should have to go through an operation when the only benefit is that his ears pointy to please his owner!

  • Well then if it is not animal cruelty then why would get on your soap box about the whole issue.

Surely the issues u should focus on are owners who fail to provide the basics to their animals and are cruel to animals.

Owners of Pedigree Purebred dogs who have chosen a breed because of the dog traits both pyhsical and behavioural, who want a dog that can conform to the breed standard shouldn't be penalised because they like a docked or cropped breed.

    It isn't just about looks!

  • for your information there is also a reason behind pointy ears, it may be for show, but not long back, when the breed was inits heyday and the police use to use them the ears were used so the poice or security guards can pull the dog off the person it may be attacking with ease......ORIGINALLY WHAT THEY WERE BRED TO DO....AND WHY DONT YOU KEEP YOUR SNOOTY COMMENTS TO YOURSELF

  • Its not snooty to have an opinion, comments on this video r enabled, so i commented, simple.

    I've a couple of questions 4u:

    You said...

'but not long back, when the breed was in its heyday and the police...'

When was this breed in their hey day? and ur profile says ur British, ru talking about them being used by UK police?

I do not feel the procedure is necessary but others would disagree, that's fine 2, opinions r opinions, if ur breaking no laws ur not doing anything wrong.

  • Unfortunately I cannot specify no do-gooder tree hugging hippies are allowed to comment on YouTube!

The only reason I didn't remove your comments is because I am tired of people like you who are way too opinionated on subjects they know nothing about!

The breed is a working dog and has been used for many decades by security and the military!

The point is that the laws should never have been imposed or introduced for pedigree dogs! A breed is what it is and doesn't need changing!

  • What is this obsession of yours with trees, u never stop going on about them lol I think your a closet tree hugger lol

I couldn't agree with you more "A breed is what it is and doesn't need changing!"

Bez4eva101 (from the UK) is talking total crap as it has been illegal to dock tails here for over hundred years so Police have not been using them here in the UK as they would be breaking their own law!!

I do know about the subject I am a VET!

  • Jesus, what are you on about now...

If people want plastic surgery it's up to them! They can make their own decisions...

    Isn't that really obvious..

  • Glad to hear someone knows what they are talking about! lol

  • i like them but you should get they're ears done. i had my dobes done his name is Klaus and man he looks like a sexy beast now lol.

  • Here in Australia we are not allowed to crop the ears - I love the look of it as it lets you see the jawline so well. Soon the damn tree hugging hippies will stop us docking tails as well! So it looks the the Dobermanns days are numbered here in Australia as many of the best breeders are now no longer breeding at all.. So I may have to import my next dog from Europe or the States. At least then it can have it's tail docked and ears cropped, it'll jst cost me $10,000+ to get it here!

  • In most countries in Europe it is also banned.

It is Banned in: England, France, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy (Rome & Turin), Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Virgin Islands, Wales.

It is still legal in Afganistan but they still chop pieces of people so probably best not count them.

  • Dobermanns are extremely waggy tailed dogs who only have one layer of fur on their tail, if the tail is left long it can and usually will suffer from fractures and bleeding as haematomas and ulcers form when the tail hits hard surfaces. These kinds of injuries then lead to the tail being docked in adulthood which is much more painful than being done at 3-4 days.

Why would you care about something you know nothing about?

Our dogs are loved and cared for & that's all that should matter!

  • I am a vet, I think I know enough lol

  • You can't decide to get them done when you feel like it. Ears get cropped at the age of 8-12weeks and I'm sure these beautiful Dobies are past that stage.

  • Great to hear someone knows what they are talking about :)

Thanks for the compliment on these beautiful dogs!

  • Very nice dobes you have there
