It bothers me that these riots are dubbed the 'Peekskill' riots when they occurred 2 miles outside of Peekskill. The riots occurred in the Town of Cortlandt. I'm sure some Peekskill residents were some of the narrow-minded racists who threw rocks, but it really should be redubbed 'The Cortlandt Riots'.

McCarthy had nothing against Jews specifically - it's just that many of the active, organized Communists in the United States WERE Jews. Same thing in Europe.

Jews have always had a disproportionate role in promoting communism. Karl Marx was a Jew, his father was a Rabbi. The leadership of the Russian Bolsheviks was heavily Jewish- Zinoviev, Andropov, Kaganovich and of course Leon Trotsky (real name Lev Bronstein.) Once in power, they murdered millions of innocent Russian Christians.

@dal4018 Yes, well of COURSE we never heard about the Jewish-led Communist atrocities against the Russian people in high school! But we did see a lot of Holocaust movies and read the Diary of Anne Frank, didn't we? Funny how that happens.

I have nothing against Jews. Pretty smart, creative people. I like most of the ones I've met. But it's time to end the double standard. If Jews want to be respected as a tribe, they have to learn to respect other tribes as well.

In the beginning...

Movement "Soldaritet" was a movement consisting of old fagforeningsfok and workers at the shipyard in Gdansk in Poland.

There were also communists, Maoists, trotkister with.

Lech Walesa was isolated left-wing movement.

He did so because the movement was nationwide. Then he went after the overthrow of the Polish Government. It succeeded because the Catholic church supported him and the movement.

As they said in Gdansk, when I was there for approx. 12 years ago:

check your sources, alsfirefighter. There were 2 incidents. Maybe the one you're referencing happened in Cortlandt. THIS one occurred in Peekskill. Hence the Peekskill signs. Call the Peekskill Historical Society. They'll tell you all about it.

First this occurred in the Town of Cortlandt, not Peekskill. It was a terrible incident, but of course with all liberals and communist sympathizers its everyone, particularly the police's fault. You would think being Peekskill is on the Hudson River that Pete wrote songs and was an activist for (which is about the only thing he's done I agree with) he would be a bit more accurate. That incident memory died right after it happened.

Peekskill seems like a different world now compared what i have just seen in this video. This looks like something i would have expected to be happening in Alabama not Peekskill NY. SMH. Guess it was different times back then.
