Though I love anime and all things Japanese (my room's decorated in it, for Pete's sake), I find pieces of history like this intriguing. It shows that everyone thought this way during wartime, and how disgusting some people can be. I'm sure they made the same things about us over there. But still, I think this is funny. The US literally locked up several of it's own citizens merely because they were of a different ethnic race and forced them to give up their property and jobs. When they got out they were unable to gain any of it back. It took years before the US apologized for the action and recognized how wrong it was.

The Japanese here are depicted as less than human and while that was a valid viewpoint during the war they are now allies and thus the cartoon has lost it's relevance in today's society. Also calling them the enemy of the united states is an understatement. Americans hated Japan, they hated them more than the Germans. The Pacific was about personal revenge.

@PuertoRicanfjr12 The most infamous of all Japanese government officials in the west during World War 2 was Prime Minister Tojo. Technically Japan is run by it's emperor, but Tojo was the face of the actual military government. Because of his distinct glasses most cartoons tended to make the Japanese wear them. It was intended to mock Tojo more than anything. The short and buck teeth stuff though, that was around for awhile before I think.
