Julian Peterson is way more versitile than Thomas. He negates ANY TE in coverage, hes like a corner on the field but with LB size. He also is also one of the best pass rushers and always puts up ten plus sacks despite the fact he does not blitz as much as Merriman, Thomas or Ware.
im here to mention another Linebacker who should be in the hall of fame right now, and his name is derrick thomas. he died in 2000 from a blod clot that he got from a car crash. DT holds the record for sacks in 1 game, and is the runner up to. in his 11 years in the league, he piled up more sacks than lawrence taylor did n 11 years, but LT played for 2 more years than DT did unfortunenately, and had 11 sacks in those 2 years that put him above DT. (plz vote him in)both were unstoppable

i pretty much agreed with you except on hill. peterson took over his roll taking on most of the blitzes. and marshall said hes gonna be getting alot of blitzes back thanks to the improved secondary. so your gonna see lots of blitzes from all our linebackers.
The difference being people think Reed is the best safety in the NFL, while most people consider Hill the 3rd best LB on his own team...you think the lack of plays made isn't a knock against him? Because it is...the thing is he's a 2nd year player who we stole out of the 3rd round in 05 so I'll take what I can get.
You just said Leroy Hill did't do much playmaking because that's not his role thats JP's role and he was focusing on what OLB's do and that's tackles...
Doesn't the same apply to Ed Reed... a safety who get's INT's I mean because that is what safties are 80% of the time gunning for no matter what kinda system their in.

the up and commin OLB's are AJ Hawk,, Bobby Carpenter,, and Kamerion Wimbley.. but one of my favorite NFL players are Demarcus Ware because he is more than a linebacker he's a pure athlete.. becuase he can do it all.. Shawne Merriman is good too
