so I have strange problems when trying this in SMP -.-.. say for example i have a half slab right between the cows to breed., they wont mate.. so i remove it and they mate.. IF i put it back (because of the baby cow pushing the mine cart out of placement and causing havoc) they will mate with the half slab replaced !!! SMP also can not have a block in front of the cows face ...( i should record and explain perhaps one day i can get one to work for SMP 2 players only
@mcKrawll Please come up with a fix for the new snapshot. The floating minecart track fix's are gonna kill me. I used your layout with a totally different wiring system that used 2 detector rails, but as long as you maintain the front area as the collection point, I could adapt my epic build without loosing all my effort and time I have spent on a legit build. This new "Official" release is making me frustrated, and I need HELP PLEASE!! :)
@mcKrawll I appreciate it. I fell out yesterday when I seen Docm77 doing his latest show on the new snapshot, and his breeding system had to be fixed too. :( Thanks!
yes I have tried this on snapshot too.. and we cant have floating tracks and i also guess this will be implemented in a later patch, I shall try extending the "feeding/Breeding tracks next to the button out 1/2 more blocks to the left and right tracks .. yet for now i will roll back to last MC for the floating tracks
Amazing video, best design I seen so far. For my system I seem to have a bug though. The left side is always sluggish (just the very first minecart jump on the left). It never makes it, sometimes stops before the glass blocks, other times inside, and rarely on top. If anyone else is having this odd behavior the only work around I have found is to power the system from the opposite detector rail, and on the slower side I moved the detector rail back one and added another powered rail.
Dang, this thing keeps backing up and getting stuck in several spots, lots of floating minecarts with or without pigs, and several getting stuck in different positions. This would have been cool as hell if I could have gotten it to work. As a last resort I even tried putting all the repeaters on a 1 tick delay. Haha with my luck the moment I would get this system working Mojang would fix it so the pigs take damage going through glass anyhow.
@opinionatedman I did my own version of this with a few differences, but the layout is EXACTLY the same as this. This system is not for the impatient.
@mcKrawll Yes, watched both videos several times and ensured that everything was identical to your set up. The only thing that was different was stone for the risers instead of pink wool, which wouldn't make a difference. I don't have a clue what happened. I ended up leveling and destroying it all, partially due to lack of functionality, and partially due to my sheer frustration. It is going to take longer and more room, but I designed semi-compact cells that can be connected together.
Hmm...do pez dispensers harm animals is carts? If not, they might be a more efficient way of storing animals. I haven't done any testing yet, or looked at any other designs yet.
@thechannelreviewguy No idea. Once the official release is out I will do a lot of testing with all my project to make sure they are still working. No idea why it wouldn't work with 1.9 pre 6. Nothing should have changed regarding this.
I'm having a problem with this design, sometimes when you breed an animal the baby drops down, however sometimes it pushes one of the cows off the track and you have to manually push them back on.
I like your setup with the inside and outside lanes. I tried separating the two and doing a compact zig-zag on each one, but it just looked too dense.
Xisumavoid's design has the advantage of swapping the baby and a parent in order to speed things up. Dropping babies into a canal and waiting for them to reach adulthood before grinding them is just too problematic. For mobs whose death-drops I care about (i.e. cows, pigs, chickens), Xisumavoid's design is better, since babies don't have drops.
However, baby sheep can be sheared! Your compact design is thus preferable for sheep (and wolves). Super compact and cheap, great job! Sub'ed
@88samdewar Push a cart to them. In order for a pig(passive mob) in a cart, the cart has to be moving and it must bump into the pigs(passive mobs) hitbox.
instead of placing repeaters to keep the cross section, just dig down one level, place redstone, and then everytime you want a cross section, place the redstone on one block higher, but cover the lower layer with glass, because redstone current can travel through glass, but it doesnt create the line, i hope you understand what im talking about
@mickyboondock I actually demonstrate this in my redstone rulebook series. It's a bug that its a cross after you place the glass. the power will not travel in 4 directions only straight.
ahh, the feeling of people telling you your design is the best out there..... well TOO BAD ur not gonna get that feeling from me!! no im just kidding this is by far the best, resource efficient, and easy to build i have seen great job!
@TalyBontTiger Well that part is left up to you guys. I don't have a slaughter mechanism. If that is something you want then check out xisumavoid. He has a great kill system.
@xisumavoid I've seen your man and it has features mine doesn't. I'm sure you can use the functionality of the breeding cells with your send and receive mechanism so that you can get the babies in the system and kill off the parent. I will put this up as a video response to yours.
What is with the redstone being a cross?
