lol it can be just as bad, whats worse is I drive my beloved crx everywhere, now the problem is it is 10 feet long, 4 feet high, 1800lb's, and has the worst safety records of all time, I fear big rigs and asian drivers for sure
I sure hope calgary drivers are better than here, no infact their bound to be better, here in vancouver its all asian drivers that paid for their licenses, its chaos
@Brendon00000 No, the drivers here are horrible. During a ten-minute drive to the pet store, I was cut off twice, once by an (apparently) illiterate cabbie who couldn't read the five signs before that said the Left Lane was closed.
people move out of calgary because of the weather and snow, these two things are the reason im going to calgary lol, just need a good winter vehicle, already have that
@Brendon00000 you don't even need a good winter vehicle, you just need to be a good driver.. & to be honest, you don't even need to be that if Calgary drivers are any indication
lol my house was like a snow ramp...took over 1hr to get the snow off the driveway and away from the garage but the road was bad hit a 3 - 4 foot snow dune and could almost not get out of my SUV and took like 1hr to dig it out and give up to get out of all the sidestreets in the NW was not going to happen lol
Put my time in calgary in the early 80's as well working the oilfields and yeah the blizzards were that bad brief but intense but I can't deal with the cold.OOOF It was tough seeing that but knowing I put a round of 18 that day out here on the coast made me feel better
Man, I remember winters like that back in the 80's growing up in Calgary. I remember driving from California to Calgary back in the early 90's during May when a freak snow storm hit us in Montana and by the time we got to Calgary, the city was blanketed with snow and Deerfoot was closed! That was in May!! I'm in beautiful So Cal now, where it is a frigid 20C today Jan 8, 2010! But I hear it didn't snow much in Calgary from 2003-2007, is that true?
Yeah, the past few winters have been fairly mild, with the biggest dumps of snow coming in late winter early spring, like March and April. It's not April showers bring May flowers anymore.
ahahahahahahahahaha and i moved from calgary in may to Ont. we are haven better weather then there, i lived in calgary for 11 years and never seen that much snow, hahahaha and i thought Ont had alot......not this year lucky if theres 3 feet out there right now
Ugh, I had put in for a transfer to Nanaimo back in June. I really really really wish I'd have gotten it now. The snow pile behind my car is still out into the cul-de-sac. I have to drive up into the driveway and back up to park. It's ridiculous.

It wouldn't bother me anymore, I finally moved from Calgary to Vancouver Island. I'd had enough crazy winters last year.

@SkoochXC It's better than in Lethbridge. There's been like five collisions on Whoop-Up drive in the past two days.

The drifts of snow behind my car are still there. We have a wonderful snow removal system here in Calgary.

Did the wind not blow snow up against your garage door? You had to have shoveled something out of the way!

Well as long as it made you feel better. We've had a chinook going the past few days, but the pile of snow behind my car remains!

Yeah it's all sorts of ridiculous. I'm sure the main roads are a lot better but that doesn't do me a helluva lot good if I can't get to them.
