@lankanboy202 Why wouldn't they have technology like ours? Our technology runs on the laws of physics - 1st Law of Thermodynamics->combustion engines, pressure systems -> flight... etc. etc.
It's not far out to assume a species more advanced than ours once went through the same technological evolution as us. Just look how we ourselves change throughout the ages as we discover more about the Universe.
@indijonesjames those discoveries were a collection of discoveries, so Aliens may not have discovered all of them, such as electricity. Even on our planet we are the only ones to do so. They are probably more primitive in the way of design so maybe single cell organisms, but if they are their technology is probably very different from ours

Chemical reactions of any sort are merely the interaction of these parts. They will know this. So, if they exist and if they have mass they're required to harness energy for their technology in one way or another and there's only so many ways to do so.
In short; if they've got microscopes they've got electricity.
Oh, silly aliens! Don't you know it's easier to just bomb the planet from orbit? Or inject pathogens in the atmosphere that will kill everyone and then die off themselves? It's trivial compared to space travel and the apes stand no chance.

@UnDe4dB4stard Mmm stephen hawking actually said what they're saying in the trailer. And I think hawking probably has a better guess at whats a 'likely' alien - human interaction. If aliens do exist, i suppose its possible, and they ran out of resources, much like we humans are now, wouldnt they do what we'd do in that situation? Go looking for other planets to colonize?
