Could you by any chance email me the musical notes for that first riff please? I'd love to make a funky house song with it, under your permission obv :D
Also, if you ever hear of the saint tropez javelin experiance, I highly suggest you go and watch them if they are ever near. they have a very limited interent presence, but my god they are good live!
@terrykumar very nice bassline! I've had that bass for a couple of months now and I'm thinking the original pickups are the weakest thing in it. Lovely to play, but sounds too "polite". Must get some other pickups, so it's good to see what other people have done. Yours sounds good even with dead strings!
Love this mate, and the tone you have is amazing. I've just recently bought this guitar on the strength of your videos.
Really struggling to get a similar tone to yours - the E string doesn't sound tight and bright, really booming and floppy. Do you suggest swapping the strings right away?
Could quite easily be my technique thats at fault?
I hate to say that I've changed couple things on the bass. Changed the pickups to Sadowsky Humcancelling; changed the bridge to BadAss II bridge and I used EBS MicroBass II preamp in this video.
I suggest change the strings to Sadowsky Black Label Bright Nickels.. They're great. Par with DR with less price.
You're a natural man. Love that smooth, easy going style... keep practicing, Try covering old school funk & disco stuff and your talent will multiply like mad.(it's hard to keep up with that stuff)
no, i dont have a similar mind to flea. the fact that both of us have the same influence, larry graham. ive listened to larry graham's earthquake and im influenced by that.
Mate - can you send me the tab for this? PLEASE!

Seriously talented, you need to hook up with a sax player, trumpet player and possibly a flute or something. Also get a good drummer.
Kepp it up dude, I hope to see you playing some serious funk very soon ;)

What is better The squire vintage modified 70s jazz bass or the Ibanez ATK300
mk4sg4eva 1 year ago
The squier vintage 70s jazz bass is alot more vintage, its suitable for all genres, whlist atk has harsher sound, good for rock and such.
the vintage mod jazz bass is a good bass if you're into modification and such. the ATK already got a preamp, so yeah.
i personally would go for the ATK if im playing rock and such.
