Even having to sit down and wear the darkened glasses didn't take anything away from him did it? He was still a force. Miss you hoss, if I live to be 110 still will.
I really think Waylon's interpretation of this song and the Waymore Blues Band vocals, especially Carter Robinson's back up singing are just terrific and out of this world. There's a momentum in the Never Say Die Concert as the CD liner notes say, he seems to have forgotten that he was sick because the music just carried him away as if he was not disabled. Rather ironic that Waylon really did "just drift away" when he went to take a nap and died in his sleep.
This is one of the best...I didn't know that Waylon did this song...he just kept getting better and better....we lost him way to soon. Thank you soooo much for posting this...Awesome....!!! Love it....
I love -Waylon, this is great, but Travis Twitt is just a cheap knockoff of Waylon- always has been! And Travis WTF this was in 2000, whats with your 80's outfit and mullet!!
everything waylon did was gold i like the fact that the band he used here was the same band waylon chris johnny and willie used on all the highwayman tours rip john and waylon
I feel soooo lucky I got to see Waylon not long before he die he was great as ever He did have a walker he was setting on a stool SAME BAND AS ON HERE saw him in front row! Cape Girardeau mo septmber 1999--- ROCK ON FOREVER WALON!!
at 4:50 look at Travis smile he knows how lucky he is to be up there with ol Hoss. Travis is the real deal aint no other artist at that time and today except Jamey Johnson who Waylon would have let on his stage
this is my favorite version of this because waylon is singing it he is the best he always will be in my heart and i just could image what this song drift away would sound like if the highwaymen sang it well johnny and waylon are gone now maybe they are listening to me and when us and willie & kris go to heaven just maybe they will sing it for me i really miss waylon a johnny RIP guys the man in black and hoss you are missed by the whole world
Just sensational. The liner notes on the DVD talk about how the music just lifted Waylon and his health issues melted away. And when he died while taking a nap, I guess that is exactly what he did
Audio and video are not sync
But my dad loves it!

Bad, not in sync and cracks up at the end though on the other hand I'd sure would have liked to have seen one of his concerts, live.

Even in failing health, Waylon's voice was as great as ever. Thanks for this video.
