Because its a speed run. It takes time to get the summon, and it isn't necessary. Not only that, if I could get away with not using it (which I obviously can) its a good thing, because the casting annimation for summons is disgustingly long, so I wouldn't want to use it any way.
hacks for sure...jenova's tail laser NEVER inflicts below the 100 damage at this part in this game...you need uber training or high defenses using guard sources..or else it would almost definetly destroy you...but hey nice fight with the nades:P
I'd be so disturbed if I had to be stuck on a ship full of dead people ._. and I'd reeeally be disturbed if i went up to someone who turned around and then fell foreward dead.. I'd probably end up in an insane asylum after that kind of encounter

each jenova form birth,life,n death, uses a certain elemental for each form. for example
(jenova.Birth will only use lightning based attacks, not sure if thats the right elemental but u get the picture)
just find which elemental it is and immune ure party with an accerssory, u wont be hit
