I am so glad you experienced hearing kate she is one special folk singer with clearly a special true girt that's for sure no names means a lot to me as parts of the song relates to me in my personal life and when she sang i think there were not many dry eyes I tell you. Shes a what we call a true yorkshire lass
We have so much great talent in these Isles Dick Gaughan, Christie Moore, Paul Brady, John Martyn, Richard Thompson,Kate Rusby and Sharon Shanon. So many more as good as anywhere on the planet .
alot was take my hand it meant so much to me I had silent tears down my face while u were singing it it was wonderful but sadly I cannot find u sing Take my hand anywhere on Yt anywhere I also remember where u got the tile of the song which was fr a inmate fr Wakefield prison. Also u mentioned how nervous u were entering the prison which I wld have bn too lol now I am plzed to say I am 13st fr having gastric bypass op I too had 1 of yr cds in hosp but it did NOT hav take my hand on it though!
I went to see to u at Stafford The gateway theatre you were fab and were desperate for a cuppa and talked about u going to wakefield prison and u ask the inmate to name one of yours which they called TAKE MY HAND I absolutely love that song it was so soulful and it had a lot of singing from the heart in it. I went to see u at a time when things in life were hard for me and one of those things that were I was extremely overweight and down and weighted 26st at the time the 1 song that meant, con't
Hah! Good old Kate. I grew up not 20 miles from Penistone. I go there for the farm auctions on Saturdays when I can. Its like stepping back in time, its great! But its also sad to think that that part of our culture is dieing. Just remember we'll fight tooth and claw to make sure it survives.
She is great. I remember when she played at Mountain Stage in the US- I took my daughter then about 6 to hear her and we were treated to photos and an autograph. We then went to hear her in Columbus (OH) in I think 2002 and again it was wonderful. I wish she would come back to the States and play another set of concerts. Kate's fans in the colonies miss her.
This is terrific. I love Kate Rusby, and it's really cool to get to see behind the scenes at Pure Records. :) I also loved the bit where her mother sang!
I love her music a lot.

well I know the dates don't match up quite right, but perhaps she's channeling Sandy Denny somehow :)

I first heard her when I was a kid and my mum played her CD, I only liked one song though and would sing along to it over and over. Aah memories!
